Scriver: Inspect berries(19!). Dig pit for firewood(3). Keep fire going(3). Find materials for fishing pole(2).
You wander over to the food supply, and start inspecting the berries with Askot and Burnt Pies. Burnt Pies announces that the black berries are indeed blackberries. Askot begins eating them, having recognized them himself. The pink berries are starting to turn orange, and they are also starting to attract moths. Waving them away, you steel yourself, and pick up one of the unknown berries. You close your eyes and swiftly bite it in half. Astonished, you recognize the flavor, and it is not terribly unlike blackberries or raspberries. You had a free sample in a grocery store once, and they weren't horrible or poisonous, just bland and very juicy. The ones in the store, however, were fully orange. You do know that they also had a location attached to them, but can't remember what that location is. You announce that they are safe to eat, and that they are salmonberries. You then set to work with the spade, digging a shallow pit for the firewood. You dig a trench a couple of feet deep and just long enough to house the firewood. You work up a sweat, but thankfully there is still a light mist of rain. You toss a couple of pieces of firewood onto the fire, and then begin to hunt around for the perfect fishing pole stick. It takes the rest of the night, but you eventually find it.
Darvi: Sharpen stick for hunting(2).
You sit down with the knife and begin whittling away at a stick. For some reason, the three that you've brought with you just won't cooperate. After mangling the first three horribly, you eventually find one that does cooperate, and it takes the rest of the night to sharpen it carefully to a fine point.
Sonerohi: Rest. Like a boss.
You wander over to the shelter to find Askot and Burnt Pies wondering out loud what the hell a salmonberry is. You decide to find out, as Scriver has told you that they are safe to eat. They taste like somewhat bland, very plump raspberries. After eating a modest amount, you huddle up under the lean-to and do your best to fall asleep while Choobakka works on getting the leaks to stop. You dream of home and family.
Choobakka: Fortify camp(9, MacGuyver). Guard camp with stick(5).
You set about the arduous task of fortifying the camp. You really don't know where to start, as you're currently in a clearing in a pretty thick forest, so you decide to add a little bit of shelter to the lean-to. Using mud, dried pine needles and downed branches, you build up the topside of the lean-to into a pseudo thatched roof. It doesn't really seem to help as far as defenses go, but at least the rain won't get through now. You spend the rest of the night on guard duty with a hefty stick.
Askot: Inspect berries(4). Check fishing lines for strength(1!, Calm Demeanor). Rest.
Before you can get the words out, Burnt Pies announces that the black berries are indeed blackberries. You eat a couple as you watch Scriver suicidally take a bite out of the unknown variety. He announces that they are safe to eat, and that they are something called a salmonberry. After wondering out loud what the hell a salmonberry is with BP, you go inspect her fishing lines. As you tug on one gently, it holds. They would be great for fishing with. You pull hard this time, and it snaps, leaving a small welt on your cheek. It stings, but you laugh it off and decide that it wouldn't be suitable for a bow. Unfortunately, this one split in a manner that it refuses to re-splice, leaving you to toss it in the fire. You'll make up for it later, but for now, you need to rest. You do your best to rest under the now non-leaky lean-to, but Sonerohi and BP are snoring. You dream of electric sheep eating berries in a monsoon.
Burnt Pies: Inspect berries(15). Rest.
You figure out that the black berries are indeed blackberries, and watch horrified while Scriver insanely bites down on one of the unknown berries. After a moment, he states that it is a salmonberry, mumbles something about it being safe to eat but bland, and walks off. You, along with Askot, wonder out loud what the hell a salmonberry is. You decide to stick with the blackberries tonight as you munch down a small helping, and then curl up under the lean-to for the night. As you try to sleep, Choobakka patches some holes in the lean-to, making it rainproof (from the sheltered side, anyway.) The heat from the fire wafts in and makes the cold more bearable. You dream of drop bears fighting werewolves.

The breeze dies down and the rain stops. The storm moves away from the island, off to the east. The temperature drops another couple of degrees, but the fire makes it bearable. The sun is rising on a new day.
