Nostalgia makes everything seem better. Looking back VN seems ok, 1 z-level is all we ever needed and perma floods were awesome. Also Cthulhu was better when he was Muffles and Janet really should be [Insert Original Name]* again.

For a very long time VN *was* the Southern Boards. Wasn't anything else down here before the great split, so there's a lot of very good stuff buried in there (although the original ZA finally got moved out awhile ago).

And there was something to be said about both the 1 z level system (where every map had everything you needed) and perma-floods (which were just awesome).
