Can't get Dwarf Terapist OS X to work - any alternatives?

I contacted the guy through reddit and he said he can't work on the problem right now as his computer is having problems.

I keep getting the message:

Dwarf Fortress has either stopped running, or you unloaded your game. Please re-connect when a fort is loaded.

Which guy? I posted the build on reddit this weekend and I'm working through several issues for several users right now. My machines (three now) are working fine. My highest priority is getting the searches working for new versions of DF and figuring out why DT won't start on older on the first intel generation mac books.
