I would have thought it was the second in the series.  "Growers of the Lost Pot," in which we meet Doctor Ryan "Lucky" Bong, biochemist and gentleman adventurer.  "Lucky Bong in the Desert," a peyote-fueled adventure of epic proportions.  "Lucky Bong vs. Raoul Duke," a meeting with a fictionalized gonzo journalist.  And so forth.
