Tweed is the starting equipment.
It is just basic clothing material that the Characters wear on arrival. Thats all. You need to outfit them with equipment with the 1000g you start with.

I guessed,  :) I was commenting on the fact that instead of generic clothes of cloth or leather they're wearing incredibly dapper Tweed.  8)

I'll take a medic. Give her the loli face and name her Lola Childs. Or formally, Dr. Childs.  :P I'll leave the skills to you. I have only played Etrian Odissey 2: Heroes of Lagaard, so I don't know anything about the skills of the first.

Now one thing to remember in this series of games: STATUS CAUSING SPELLS ARE FREAKING AWESOME! No, really. Contrary to most of the rpgs you played before, in this game they not only actually work, but they will be pretty much mandatory in the later game just for surviving. Buffs, debuffs, and standard status spells are all very useful and important.

Also, never, ever, ever ever ever forget to buy warp wire or equivalent. In fact, buy try to always keep two in the pack in case you forgot to buy one one time.
