No animals being harassed?

Just noting that my soldiers will not harass dangerous animals.
Doing battle with them is a purely 'defend oneself against being mauled' thing.

I noticed this too, upon trying to get rid of the 40 frigging monkeys stealing my stuff.

have you set the "harass wild animals" option on?

With smaller militaried i think you need to do it with every soldier

Under the same note, I notice dangerous animals seem to hound my hapless dwarves relentlessly once sighted. They do not do the same to other races. Hardly seems fair.

Hm, this actually grows increasingly horrible as the hippos grow in number. They now have about 2 hippos for every dwarf I have, and roam the area aggressively. A few have names. A few of those have long names.

That said, there are only around 50 hippos. With that in mind, I didn't always have so few dwarves.

neither hippos nor monkeys are "dangerous animals" according to the soldiers

dangerous ones are the large predators, which will specifically hunt your dwarves

Which is strange because hippos are highly likely to kill people in real life. I think they're one of the more dangerous animals out there. It'd be nice if they kill dwarves to label them as dangerous.

most of the worlds most deadly animals are herbivores

your more likely to be trampled to death by sheep than killed by a mountain lion
