Watch Jay's speed run on replay.

I think I might render mine, but jay doesn't like it. I cut like 2 seconds out of his by shortcuting at a couple places. I've found 2 more shortcuts I should learn to use. You can see my cars flipping around in the 151 preview. :P

I did about 20 runs yesterday, one of which actually made it to the finish. You wanted lots of mistakes right? Will do a few more and then make a clip.

I did try to fiddle with the replay editor yesterday, but when I loaded them all in at once it seemed to limit the replay time to that of the first replay in the list (20 seconds...). Am I failing hard at something (apart from the actual racing)?

The replay editor does that to me, too. I just ticked some circle that said 'Keep playing'.

Some more replays, including one 1'14"something.

It equalizes the blocks.  Usually in the wrong place.
That doesn't mean the ghost is truncated.  Nope, still got all the data.
Just the ghost block is truncated.
Think of it like this:  There's the data, possibly modified by keyframes (for non-ghost-data tracks), contained in the track.  The blocks that are visible on the timeline represent when that data will be visible in the replay.
This half-analogy becomes suitably more awkward if you place multiple blocks containing different data in one track, of course.
Keep playing just makes it...  keep playing, until another block replaces it.  Not especially useful in most cases, but good to have when it is.

I might try to get as many done before I depart tomorrow (just in case this isn't still going when I get back next week). I'd like to see my Jaguar XKRacer in the mess.

I have a second version minus the name.

EDIT:
Oh well, maybe next week.

Except it's a Jaguar. It will break before you finish the race. :P

That's just because of how I drive it; not it's build quality. Not that I'm a bad driver, it's because cars that nice should be driven that way. Why else would they have such flimsy parts? They wouldn't expect them to be driven like cars; they'd be expected to be driven like racers.

Drive something like that like a casual beach car or something, and you're not getting the full satisfaction of the vehicle. Drive it like a madman, and it's actually a pretty cool car. Hell, it made the top (Sub-Zero) rankings in the "Cool Wall" in Top Gear even (granted, it is a British car reviewed in the original (UK) Top Gear; but still). It's still a fun car to drive, even in games like Need For Speed and Gran Turismo Series. Not the fastest A-Class, but it's still fun to maneuver. Heck, even in GT3/4, I made a few custom versions (especially one for drifting, and man was it fun to drift). It's a shame all cars are essentially the same in Trackmania.

Nice way around it. :P

I'm more into the japanese mad way of making race cars... As you can see in my sig sometimes, That's Smokey driving his modified supra with a v12 twin-turbo engine doing above 350kph (220ish mph) on the street at night. Technically his car can reach 420kph.
