Comic heroes tend to react extremely well to adrenaline, though...

He was just casually flipping a tank.

He wasn't doing his "Last ditch effort" strength boost.

Mind you we had a lot of arguements there. For example we had one where I took the possition that Captain America cannot outright deflect bullets (as in intercept them AFTER they are shot) as his arm cannot move fast enough to intercept them since he is only peak human and not super human (Somewhat he has super powers) but rather it is a combination of predicting their path and moving his arm before hand.
-It was actually part of an arguement where Captain America could lose to an Olympic Strength Gunslinger if he suddenly lost his plot armor. I also argued that his Shield wouldn't be too much help given it is a buckler and I learned that his Shield has magic size changing powers.
--I also learned that Captain America suffers from copious amounts of inconsistant writing.

I was mainly joking, but still - he's a superhero who's strong, so flipping a tank, while unrealistic and above his normal level of strength, so it's not a major issue if a writer makes him do that.

Well we already came up with a way he could do it. It was a Ultralightweight Tank. Which in modern times isn't so uncommon.

Also yeah we did get to notice Spiderman's inconsistancies in writing (Such as randomly inflating his powers).

Still though...

So In terms of Tanks I guess they should also be unrepairable. So eventually the tank will break down.

Every superhero gets inflated occasionally. Some heroes get inflated so often that the stronger version gets a part of the canon. For example, originally Superman couldn't fly - only jump really far. I guess it's a part of fiction evolution.

You get a lot of that. Retcons and wild changes in powers are common. The Green Lanterns for example originally had the bizarre weakness that their powers didn't work on things that were yellow. Then later they turned that into "The fact that Green Lanterns think they can't use their powers on yellow things is what stops them from doing so."

Part of it is because different 'seasons' of comics are sometimes produced by totally different people. That, and maintaining a consistent base of fiction with so much effort is the sort of thing only an insanely dedicated person like Tolkein (who even matches up mentions of the phase of the moon with the date in his entire body of Middle Earth work) can manage.

Didn't they have an even OLDER weakness? To wood?

Mind you if the DCU online is correct... Then Classic Green Lantern is still alive and kicking... (though that game really suffered from feeling like they are about the DC heros)

Actually, now that you mention it, I'm currently making an accessory program that should help fiction writers in reaching that level of consistency. A friend who writes a lot of fiction suggested it.

What sorts of things does/will this program do for you?

For my friend who's a hobbyist fiction writer, actually. He's my trusted co-dev, and has expressed interest in a product like this. Features would include storing character/event/site profiles, sketching out timelines and possibly making basic sanity checks (characters being in two places at once etc).

The far less noble reason I'm doing this is because I have to learn Python.
(I also hereby proclaim that should the program ever reach the state of usefulness, I'll release the source)

I'd greatly be interested in that sort of thing, might I recommend making inline links be automatic (like a wiki) and a robust tagging system?

I would suggest selling it to comic book writers once it's in mid-stage Beta.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

I thought they were aware of continuity that just chose to ignore it when it suits them.

I'm glad to hear that other people also think the idea could work. I'll try to keep you guys informed if/when this project kicks off properly. I'm having some issues on my coding laptop (mainly a horrible malware that causes lack of productivity called DCSS).

How much would you pay for that? Just curious, I'm not very interested in money.
