I have used the search function and couldn't find a thread like this.

I just had a cat stabbed by a goblin baby snatcher, tearing apart the lower body and the spleen, the cat walked off like nothing happened and when I checked the wounds screen it didn't even have pain. the spleen healed completely within a month and the lower body was fixed after about 2. all through this time it didn't black out or anything. It just continued hunting.
so the question is, are cats extremely tough, or is mine unique?

I have no idea.. but that sounds like one lucky cat.

You can use runesmith to check it's stats and see if it's got superfeline toughness and recuperation.

Runesmith has been updated to work with the SDL .25 version, which includes the basic one. Unless you're on a mac or something, it should work.

I have noticed that, generally, if the bones aren't hit, harly any pain will be felt. The spleens [PAIN_RECEPTORS] is 5, the same as skin, fat or muscle. Bones on the other hand, have 50. That means that bones feel pain 10 times more easily.

Of course, surviving 2 months after getting torn up like that..?

For once I must agree.  This cat deserves some legacy.  I demand a name and description!  Is the hair short, long, red, white?  Is it stubbly and fat or long and lanky?  Screenshots!

I propose that this thread be renamed, The Cat who Adopted Armok.

I like the bad-ass scar on the lower body.

I would like to see it get a longer name :P

Make it kill the minotaur and the gobbo you caught (If they are still alive). Then send it out to face the goblin war machine.

And once it dies, magma its corpse, obsidianize said magma and carve said obsidian into a statue of the cat killing the minotaur.

not to argue on the awesomeness of the cat, but spleen is completely useless and its injuries affect nothing, and kobolds are just 20kg and flimsy.
