I-want-to-eat-cursed elf
« on: May 30, 2011, 11:57:09 am »

Man, I LOVE legends mode.
New pocket world with 4 civs, 3 Megabeasts and 1 Titan.
Comes to the age of twilight, which starts with
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
710 loses from 12 enemies... Who could be that mighty elvish guy i thought?
And I found the elven commander:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Half of all the humans killed by this guy,
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and most of at least named ones - devoured by him. Fuck! And after that he dies of starvation.
Something is going wrong here... <probably more images when i'll find the rest 300 dead humans>

Whenever i read the "doesn't care about anything anymore" line, i instantly imagine a dwarf, sitting alone on a swing set. Just slowly rocking back and forth, somberly staring at the ground, and stopping every once in a while to sigh.
It's mildly depressing.

Post a pic of his age.

Edit: Where did the spoilers come from?

Ironic that in the victorious battle you posted, his wife died. It was probably her death that spurred him on to great deeds. It's likely he wanted to devour the corpses out of revenge, but the tragedy was too much for him, and he wasted away, clutching to his heart a lock of hair from his wife's head as his life faded from his body.

Shouldn't eating several human corpses give enough nutrition for the "early spring" ?! I'm not eating 1000+ pounds of food over max. 2 months - and I'm 6'2'', both medieval people are smaller then modern people and elves smaller then humans...

Thanks for the suggestion, but Number4 is correct: [...] it would be easier and more predictable to just be a racist.

Depends on what condition the corpses were in. He could have eaten only one eye each.

The Fatal Jaw and their War of Bites, indeed.

I am going to assume he bit all of them to death, he just seems that hardcore.

Well, if it's the age of twilight he may have starved because he literally hunted the nearby humans to extinction and his own civilization is too far away to get food...

Somehow that almost makes him even more ruthless.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

That was a Last Elven Stand for the Last Elven Forest Retreat btw, so those 12 elven guys were the only elven civ left.

Battles tend to have extremely bizarre casualty counts like that. Because each battle is treated as a series of duels, there's little strength in numbers, and individuals of great strength mean much, much more.

The only exception I'll ever be willing to make on the subject of elves.

Presumably, they are lining up to dump them into the baby furnaces.

You have no idea how long I just tried to find that name's origin with the search tool. Can I have a link to where this character originated? Because, all I can gather is that he was an elven king of dwarves. (Which, I've got to say, does sound bad ass.) You've got me wanting to hear the full story. :P
