Body parts?!

My dwarf has a fey mood and is asking for body parts. What does he mean by that?
Also how do I shear an animal?

'Body parts' usually means bones.  You need to slaughter an animal for its bones.  It might also mean shells, but that's rarer.

You shear an animal by building a farmer's workshop, and then selecting the 'Shear Creature' job at it.
