How can you not have bluemetal? Did you set the world to gen without HFS?

I have little magma experience, but doesn't the game refer to steel as "magma-safe"?
...  good point.

Follow the dollop of magma with a dollop of water.  Anything dies when encased in obsidian.

Keep us posted about the evolution of the situation - this is going to be interesting...

Naked dwarves remove the need to produce more clothing, which means more of your pig tails can be brewed into booze.
I think this is less a problem and more an expression of dwarven priorities.

Trap it someplace, carve out giant boot above, pull the lever!

Or just leave it in the pit as a convenient goblin garburetor.

You've got to trap it somehow in a glass case and display it outside your fort.

Would cage-traps work against it, or is it trapavoid?

All forgotten beasts are trapavoid as far as I know.

The old trick of knocking them out with a nearby-cave in that shoves them onto a line of cage traps should still work.

Only if you can stun and or knock unconscious from the cave in.  I've not seen a FB get either.  That only leave webbing to remove the trapavoid.  So get a GCS to web him over a trap.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

how skillful are your dwarves becoming? dwarf therapist should be able to tell you their current ledgendary+100 ish levels.

Can FB's learn?
If not -eventually the skill increases in your military as they learn should produce a dwarf who can punch it to death.

If you've got a steel cockroach problem, just get your mech's and your metalsmiths to make a steel tarantula.
Problem solved.
