Magma glass furnace require metalsmithing to construct
« on: January 18, 2007, 02:31:00 pm »

I presume this is a bug, since a normal glass furnace requires glassmaking to be constructed, and it seems easy enough to believe that the definition for the magma forge was copied over without this minor alteration.  If this is a bug, it might be related to how a dwarf in a 'mood' who has chosen a metalsmithing job wants a magma forge (if the magma river has been struck), but a 'mood' glassmaker takes over a normal glass furnace.

All the magma furnaces require architecture and metalsmithing (smelters and kilns as well).  I'm inclined to believe it's not a bug: you need a metalworker to build these metal structures, in the same way you need a metalworker to build a metal bridge.

But it is a bit unexpected and inconsistent with the construction of other workshops.  For instance, you don't need a mason to construct a regular smelter even though it's built with stone blocks.
