Well, the thing is, if I don't put a steward, I lose even more money - I'm only making an income /with/ a steward. With 1.3k in debt to begin with, losing more money isn't a good prospect. Although I /could/ have a higher net income since embezzlement events seem to fire so frequently...

But there aren't any bad events from courtiers leaving, really. Courtiers leave when they want to, and the only bad thing happens is when one of my ministers leave or some loyalty drop; which is zero already.

Uh, so any idea whether or not it is too late to get the free CK game?

Low loyalty Chancellor: Lose claims, other countries lose relationship, or enemy countries gain a claim on your land.

Marshal: Random regiment is disbanded

Spymaster: Assassination attempt on your life. I think you can lose claims from a low loyalty spymaster.

ALWAYS replace low loyalty courtiers with more loyal ones, even if that means your skills are lower. Only exception is that it's ok to keep low loyalty high skill Marshals in peace time, just replace him before you make the regiment active.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Yeah, you had to be signed up at the beginning of May. I forwarded the email to my friend and he downloaded it and that left me without the game. DAMN. Anyway, point is it's too late.

Oh really? Pity that all of my courtiers were at 0 loyalty. ;P

In any case, is someone going to pick up that savefile or will someone start a new one?

I want in! I'm a veteran of playing Kalmar Lan and Nubia, in case you need more choice options.

Play the save file, Il Palazzo.  Only you can save the Northcumberbumland, or whatever.

I'll try it!

EDIT: I'm the King of England. Am I winning yet?

No. Apparently England follows Elective Law, which I don't understand, that automatically places you second in line for the throne. Being King of England only grants you shitty royal demesne to hand out and other responsibilities that just pile up without being any better a situation to deal with.

Hey, wait, I'm doing it!
It's 1110, I've gotten rid of the debt by 1103, have won a war with Scotland, and declared independence from England. ~800 prestige now. I've got just one son(1 year old) with my second wife(the first one had to die having a barren womb apparently - one daughter after ten+ years of marriage), hopefully he'll survive to adulthood. My brother(who is also my friend) is doing good in the two counties I've granted him, and has got two promising sons himself, so the line should survive anyway.
There is a danger, though, as the English king(who's got -1500 prestige and "realm in duress") has got a valid claim on my land, and is at peace for the first time in long while, so he might decide to invade. I'm allied with Duchy of Normandy, but it might not help much should the war begin.

Our ruler is rather shitty, having poor education(misguided warrior) and the grand total of 1 intrigue, but I've got good courtiers, including a prodigious wife, and traits that while not helping my stats are making me likable, so everybody's devoutedly loyal.

I do admit that I had to reload once, as I've foolishly declared war on him while he had half of his army marching through my lands to battle the Scots.

You guys better decide whether you want to have this one, providing I won't lose by the time it's the time for my successor, or inteuniso's one.

... Whoa. How did you manage to wipe out a 1.3k debt in merely twenty years just like that? And while still keeping that rather horrible ruler?

Heh, now I know just how far I am from being a proper CK player.

Just had the humorous mental image of the UN agreeing to hand control of the world to Il Palazzo and Paz calling them back in a few weeks saying he'd stopped war in Africa, amiably sorted out a deal between Israel and Palestine, and peacefully disbanded Al Quaeda, offering the world back as he was now somewhat bored with it.

Before you crown me the King of Everything, I should mention that soon after I posted that, I got steamrolled by 20000 angry Englishmen. The only consolation is that I kinda knew it was going to happen.

I've still got the save to go back to, so maybe not all is lost. We could become vassals of one Malaise, king of Scotland(he's a true Scotsman) and enjoy his protection.

I'll post more detailed account of what happened tomorrow.

Ok, first of all, sorry for triple posting, but I wanted to make sure that you'll notice the save being posted.
Also, sorry for the delay, but Wulfhere Leofricson, the saviour of Northumberland just wouldn't die.

He lived until 69 years of age;
outlived his only sister, who went bonkers after repeatedly being refused an active role in the court;
he deposed his nephew, who previously killed his own father, and Wulfhere's dearest friend of a brother;
he pledged allegiance to Malise, the King of Scotland, and was a loyal, dutiful subject, sending the troops when needed, even on crusades;
he had as much as 1000 prestige at one time, but expanded 500 to grab the counties from the Duchy of Galloway, who rebelled against Scotland;
during his reign, he gained the titles of Duke of Galloway, Count of Carrack, Count of Galloway, Count of Berwick, Count of (forgot the name);
he only turned to celibacy when he hit sixty;
he has seen the King of England invade his lands, and fought many glorious battles, including the one in which lasted over a month, seen 4000 troops dying on each side as well as two of the enemy commanders, not to mention many wounded - including his Marshall as well as Wulfhere's heir Burgred, Count of Berwick, Carrack, and Galloway.
In the end, he had some ~700-ish prestige and ~500 piety.
He did not get beatified strangely enough;)

He died of old age in the middle of the war with England. Burgred - the heir - is severly wounded and depressed, but his son is nearing adulthood, so it's not that bad.

Whomever takes this save, will have to fight off England(with the help of King of Scotland), and probably will not live very long anyway, due to wounds and depression.
