Unless someone suggests a gender option.

Gender AND sexuality.

Though sexuality could probably be established via play.

Or you don't know your sexuality, and finding it out could be an objective. That way we can claim moral high ground for being artsy. Yea.

Then should the Last boss who you CAN date... be genderless?

No, how about... the Last boss's Gender will be left ambiguous so it could be either male or female.

It will also resemble an angel...

Its love will also power you up and as we know... Unlock the secret form of the last boss who can be defeated for the secret good "Everyone wins" ending.

I am not the one to suggest a homosexuality option where you don't know your true sexuality.

I figure this is easier then giving two different character models.

Frankly I'd love to veto EULD's suggestion and make this a more traditional RPG instead... but I feel it may be against the spirit of the game.

I'll Also suggest that if you win the love of 5 people you should be able to take another class combining it into one super class that is the best of both... and if you also win the undying friendship of 5 other people you can take the last one and become a megaclass that is the amalgamation of all three.

There should be at least 8 different Girls and Guys (excluding the last boss) for you to date each. At least three from each should be plot relevant. In fact, two characters should ONLY be capable of surviving until the end of the game, IF they already love/Undyinglike you.

Damn... You pretty much stole my idea. I also wanted to ask other people for ideas on what to put into a game. Though I'm probably much less experienced than you. I also know Python but I haven't learned to do anything with graphics. I learned it mostly just to learn programming in general. Also, is there some sort of built-in thing that lets you make stuff with graphics or do you have to download something extra. (I'm only using Python 2.7.1 (Didn't know there was a 3.something when I started learning.)) Anyways. Off to another forum so that I wouldn't be accused of stealing an idea.

Wuss, where's that link? Nobody's going to sue you. I'm swamped in projects right now, or I'd do this myself.

Spoiler: a little secret (click to show/hide)

People say Python 2.6 is the best, but I learned on 2.7.1 and I'm afraid of downgrading so that's what I use. Most of my experience is roguelike programming with libtcod, but the library I'm using for this project is pygame. I had to hunt around a bit to get a binary that worked with Python 2.7, but you won't have to because I'm linking you directly to the page.

Off to socialize, and then back to working on the game! Hopefully I'll have some kind of meaningful update tonight or tomorrow morning.

Hey, I just had an idea. If I'm in the mood to goof off, I'm going to take random suggestions from this thread and make a game with that. :P

Sure, why not? rts can be a mode, dating as another mode. one trick is to have things useful for dating that you earn in the rts, and things helpful with the rts gained through the dating. It's easy, and makes the two modes feel more like one game.

Or you could just make one really weird rts mode with a dating theme.
