"You know, you don't have to do that. Those things aren't going to harm you, the door is closed...Anyway, the feral ghouls probably will harm you." Jack bites his nails casually. "Hey, you know that vampire queen bullshit? It's more like a gang then anything. Some vampires wanna shoot off rounds at night while shouting "I am a vampire I am a vampire!" but most vampires are pretty cool guys. Like me. I serve the country I am in, I get my ration of blood once a month from the blood bank, I occasionally bat off the twilight fans sometimes, I pay my taxes... Hell, most vampires are actually office workers. Creatures of the night have to be tamed some day. Or night."

Suddenly, a bomb goes off above them.

"Oh shit. It's that project with that stupid name I can never remember!"

[Furtuka]

"Yeah why the heck did you guys rebuild Sputnik into a tank?"

[Fniff]

"I have no clue. The French Military has a fetish for winning wars, and Ghoul Attacks are the only ones that happen on a regular basis, so... You know. Sputnik. Tank. They get very creative, those military guys..."

[choobakka]

"You've never met The Queen. I have. When she was the ruler of the Old Paris Catacombs. I knew her. Quite well. And then... And then it happened. I left Paris, got the Hat, and never looked back. Now it's all gone full circle. Full circle. Round and round and round again. Just like always... Maybe I'll tell you why I'm called King one of these days."

[Furtuka]

"Lemme guess... She seduced you. Or vice Versa. Or she declared you a worthy opponent or something"

[Fniff]

"I know gangs are bad. Vampires just avoid them. The leaders of gangs have to be the oldest in the group, especially in Vampire gangs. So, the Queen was the leader of every Vampire in Paris, and this place was one of the only places that accepted Vampires, so that meant a lot of vampires. So, she was old. Very very old. She may have been part of Homo Sapien's first tribe, for all we know. But she cannot understand the meaning of tracking devices, computer modeling and nuclear weapons. She was terrifying, sure, but... She wasn't a God. Anyway, she doesn't declare worthy opponents. She kills them."

[choobakka]

"She almost killed me. And almost bit me."

[Fniff]

Blankey and Jack stop.

"You know, that means she probably liked you." Jack mutters.

"Hey, did I ever tell you guys I was her boyfriend for a while?" Blankey asks.

[Furtuka]

"I don't want to know"

[Fniff]

"She dumped me because I tried to make every vampire know exactly how to sing Nyan Cat!" Blankey says.

"Oh, you were the bastard who put in that law? That is now stuck in my head for all eternity!" Jack grunts with annoyance.

[Furtuka]

Kidd turns to Jack " Lemme guess you're a descendant of a vampire"

[Fniff]

"Nope. True vampire here." Jack opens his mouth and shows his sharp wisdom teeth. "See, descendants always lose the wisdom teeth. True vampires don't."

[choobakka]

"She hated me. She reeeally hated me. But because of a certain incident, I'm technically next in line for the Throne. Hence "King". She tried to bite me, so I was technically her choice for next in line. There are a lot of exploitable loopholes in the Code of her clan. Also, is there anyone magically inclined who's lived in Paris she hasn't dated or killed? No. No there isn't."

[Fniff]

"Actually, she quite liked me. In fact, she actually gave me this little thingy." Blankey holds up a very beautiful made pocket watch. You can see some writing on it. "Pour l'homme qui m'a fait me sentir à nouveau."

"I don't understand the French... I really did love her." If you were observant, you could see that Blankey was quite sad about this whole situation, like any normal ex-boyfriend, but if you were very observant, you could spot a tear streaming down his face.

((Sorry for the extended absence. I self-addicted myself to watching Simon and Lewis of the Yogscast muddle their way through MineCraft, and i shall make it up to you by writing what hugh has been doing all this time.))

Hugh had decided, back at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Botswana, that he had had enough of heat, and decided to independently chase down the ice-troll that was plaguing the Amundsen-Scott Station in Antarctica. Several months earlier, sightings had been made of a large bluish humanoid, which was later confirmed to be an ice-troll, and two weeks ago, it was reported to have been raiding the food supplies of the station, so the researchers there posted a request for assistance, via radio, on craigslist. Hugh's friend Sionaid*, a scotswoman, emailed him the link, knowing that he might be interested.

Two days later, Hugh was on a hired plane to Amundsen-Scott. He turned to the pilot, who often flew to the south pole. "So, how much do you know about this creature?"
