I greatly pity you, my southern neighbours. your government's paranoia, while founded on concrete principles, has severely overblown itself in the past years.

What's worse is it's not fluid. After 9/11 we went this direction and it will take a government we've never had to move back the other way. That's why I was so pissed about the Patriot Act ultimately. As a mark of an administration it would have still sucked, but it would have been specific to that administration. Instead, it became a law that attaches itself to every Presidential adminstration afterward. It's like in the blink of an eye, privacy meant half of what it used to in America. Just like that, our whole national mindset on what privacy means changed whether we voted for it or not.

So Obama is a power-hungry closet autocrat after all. What a suprise.

In response to this thread, I've decided to take action!

I'm now adding NSA type to the list of things to consider doing with my life.

So when the FBI and NSA start looking at Johnathon and LCS, we'll know who to blame right? :P

When they continue to NOT look at Johnathon and LCS you'll know who to thank.

First one I am fine with. Second one is a little sketchy, but ultimately I am okay with it. Third one is majorly sketchy, I would be fine with it on its own, but it seems like it would interact with other parts of the act, I am guessing if I knew the whole patriot act I would not be fine with it.

I greatly envy you my northern brother. Please, all I need is a cabin in British Columbia, that's all I'm asking.

Our glorious northern neighbors should, out of the pity they feel for us oppressed southerners, give us Quebec or Montreal. Please?

Think about what would happen if Canada gave the U.S. Quebec... I think I'd rather be given asylum.

I'm fairly certain that the Quebecers would collectively snap and try to kill everyone if that happened.

Or the Americans would, when they found out they might have to learn French.
