Alright, University wins. I'm vetoing tiny map, because I find the game ends too quickly when using that. Instead, we'll have huge map, average erosion, abundant wildlife and average cloud cover. I'll switch to another faction if this becomes too easy.

Also, I've changed my mind on the "no player character" thing. I will write the names of posters in this thread into the updates, even though you won't be in the game. You can request specific positions like mayor of a base, officer of a unit, etc.

If we are going for University, then, I'll request a high-ranking scientist or something similar.

Dibs on heading the military. Every footstep of the troops must be approved by me.

I'd like a base, to be decided at a later date.

RAGE

My pictures are suffering from the same color-deficiency thing that happened in Pandarsenic's LP. I have no idea what's causing this, since I didn't change anything and I was able to take screenshots properly before.

While I fix this, have the prologue. I wanted to post this with the first update, but that can't happen now.

Really liked the prologue - giving us a very human perspective.  My only regret is that I didn't see this thread in time to vote for Morgan Industries - ahh, monopolism!

I wouldn't mind a place aboard the University, maybe in charge of a probe team.  Since 'Iituem' doesn't translate well, how about Jack Roberts?  =B

Sign me up please!  I love Alpha Centauri!

I would like to be involved in R&D--not necessarily the pure research, but more on the testing side.

Especially since University is known for their. . . cavalier attitude towards safety.

I now know who the lowly-paid and permanent nerve-wreck test-suject is going to be.  :P

I might have to request my base be named Muppet Labs. We'll see.

I'll let you eggheads work out the esoteric theories.  Just let me and my team of engineering grad students (we are a University, after all) put together prototypes.

"Okay, gentlemen, I think the anti-grav harness is ready.  Right, now.  Smith, are you strapped in?  Good, good.  Now, Franklin, I would like you to power it up. .  okay.  the light is green, we are ready to go, Smith, just adjust that dial to the right and you should float gently-[sound of terrified screaming, dopplered as it fades away]. . .  um.  Okay.  We, uh, may need to adjust power settings a bit, maybe, um fine tune it.  SMITH!!  HOW ARE YOU, OLD BOY?!!  Uh, helmets are definitely mandatory.  Um.  Someone needs to get to the top of the habitation dome before the power runs out.  Ahh, perhaps it would have been wise to prepare a tether before testing.  I SAY SMITH!!  WHAT ARE YOU CATERWALING ABOUT?! . . . WELL LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE--AT LEAST WE TESTED IT INSIDE THE DOME FIRST!!"
