Strife holds out an arm in front of Nicole. While snapping on pressurized gloves.

"It might be best if I go first, I'm slightly better armored at the moment."

He pulls on a helmet and seals his suit down. Exactly why he's put a coat on over his pressure suit is debatable.

"Comm check one two? Everyone got me?"

Strife chooses to ignore the comment, she'd probably change her mind if any shooting started, after-all.

"Come on kids, no fighting now. Follow me"

Ludwig is walking through the hallway, getting nearer to the engine core. He sees destruction and bodies around him, the poor bastards didn't even have a chance.

Newton is already taking a look. She's medic, after all, so she would know what she's looking at.

"Sure, go ahead"

Ludwig steps out to the crossroad and as he looks to the left he sees a yellow door with warning signs. He recognises it as the engine room and goes to the door. The door however won't budge and he takes a small plasma cutter from his belt and starts cutting the edges of the doors.

" Captain we have a problem the warpdrive is completely destroyed, and the GPCS know we are here what do we do now? " Hikari looked at his men as the message scrolled across the screen, and said " I know that you all hate the GPCS as much as me, but I will not ask you to die with me if you wish to leave do so now before I commence the attack. " and the men stared at him in disbelief until Grubs stood up, and said " We would rather die than let them get this ship. Now lets give em' hell !! " Hikari looked at the screen for a minute before saying " Ok the stealth field should keep us hidden for awhile now manuver us into that asteroid field over there, adn latch us onto one we will use it to stabilize to help provide cover, and help us hide. " with that the men turned to stare death in the face as they set the ship down on an asteroid, adn prepared to fire. Meanwhile, Hikari typed out a message to the JSF ship

[Transimission to JSF ship]
We were contracted to deliver something to your base. It seems to be of great importance, so we ask that you send someone over to deliver it for us while we stay here to help you since our systems are to damaged to peform a lightspeed jump. We will cover you for as long as possible, but I must warn you my men's lives are top priority. I also have a squad of Stingray's enroute to help bomb the ships sending their identification codes along. Please hurry I think this package is of great importance.
[End Transimission]

Hikari sighed as he sent the message, and gave the order for all guns to open fire on the GPCS ship.

"*sigh*"

Strife positions himself so that he can keep half an eye on both Nicole and the Captain, it'd hardly do for anyone to get separated on this kinda place.

NPC - Jhordian System Forces

Commander Ferrin Barnes – CO of the Patrol Frigate Sentinel

Barnes paced anxiously as his helm officer brought the Sentinel around for another pass. The GPC vessel had longer weapons range than anticipated, but the Patrol Frigate's high speed was still making it difficult for them to hit them. Luckily.

Ferrin had no delusions that they could stop the dreadnought, but they could slow her down. Enough for JSF command to mobilize more of the ground forces.

Mister Galin, the ship's comm officer, swivelled in his chair, “Priority message from Jhordian Naval Command. They state that Operation Golden Egg is in play.”

Commander Barnes paused a moment and nodded once. “Thank you, Mister Galin.”

Golden Egg was the fall back contingency that the JSF had developed in such a case if the GPC  were to ever invade the system. It involved all naval assets to delay the invading force as long as possible to allow the high level military and political assets of Jhordia to fall back to a secret location out of the system. They would be whisked away on Jhordia's Pride, the flagship of the JSF.

Lt. Decker interrupted his train of thought when he announced excitedly, “Valiant and Iron Hand are within range, Sir! They're forming up for an attack run.”

The Valiant was The Sentinel's sister ship, another small patrol frigate, he doubted even the two of them could do much damage to the Taission. The Iron Hand was bigger. An older model panther-class cruiser, purchased from the GPC years ago when relations weren't as cold. Toe to toe it wouldn't stand a chance against the Taission, but the Iron Hand had a well-drilled crew and a heavy array of long range energy lances. Left to it's devices it could potentially be a threat.

“Let's try to keep the heat off them, try to get behind the Taission and target her engines.”

Galin called out again, ``Sir, getting another message, from a nearby freelancer vessel. They`ve been firing on the GPC ship...``

<<We were contracted to deliver something to your base. It seems to be of great importance, so we ask that you send someone over to deliver it for us while we stay here to help you since our systems are to damaged to perform a lightspeed jump. We will cover you for as long as possible, but I must warn you my men's lives are top priority. I also have a squad of Stingray's en route to help bomb the ships sending their identification codes along. Please hurry I think this package is of great importance. >>

Barnes just looked at Galin with a confused look, “They're going to fight them? Are they insane? Civilians...” He sighed and placed his hands on his hips, “Open a channel.”

“This is Commander Barnes of the JSF ship Sentinel. I don't know what you're referring to in terms of packages, or who you are. But if you have any sense you'll reverse course and get the hell out of here before that ship kills you all. In case you hadn't noticed that thing is a Dreadnought. Now get the hell off this channel. I have my own crew's lives to protect.”

Nicole examines the bodies, poking around in the wounds.

"I'm not exactly sure who it is that killed these guys, but it wasn't a gun, that's for sure. looks like stab wounds, something with a long triangular cross-section, and I've never seen anybody use a knife like that."

With his business concluded at the bar and The Knave now fully fuelled and  loaded, Patrick returned to his ship in stride, excited to find the mysterious freighter that had vanished years prior. Sauntering up the ramp he called out, pushing aside a gaggle of wires, “Aaron? How's our ship doing? Prepped for launch?”

Outside he heard the landing engines of another vessel, heading back outside he noticed a small mining craft touch down nearby and Brian pop out a moment later. Offering a quick whistle and a wave to draw his attention over to the old Foreman class mining vessel. Truth be told, neither ship looked like much on the outside, and most assuredly looked worse on the inside, but they were theirs. No big-government looking over their shoulders and taking all the profits.

“As soon as Brian is docked, we should be getting underway. The longer we wait on this, the more traffic  out there that'll be looking for this prize.”

Hikari watched as his men scrambled around the ship keeping up constant fire on the GPCS when the Jhordian ship opened a channel of communications. After listening to what the Captain said Hikari replied " Our ship is heavily damaged, and the probability of escape with our ship is less than if we stood our ground, and waited for an opening. Also the package we are refering to was something I was hired to deliver to JSF Main Military Starport I was on my way to deliver it when I saw you, and the other ship fighting so I decided to help you out, adn opened fire, but the enemy locked onto us faster than I anticapated, and we suffered damage, so now I am here launching an attack on  a ship about fifty times the size of mine, and all we ask is that you send one of your fast scout fighters to deliver this package. We believe it is of great importance, and even if you don't agree me, and my ship will help although I don't know how much help we will be since we lost half our heavy guns. " he turned to the screen to the left, and saw that the Stingrays had reached their target, adn began dropping their payloads alon the ships hull. Hikari stood up, and said " The Stingrays have dropped the bombs redirect all fire to take out their weapons immediately. "

"Hmm, probably rubble or something, this was hit by a meteor storm."

Ludwig finishes cutting the doors.

"Ah, wonderful, come on guys, the plasma canisters should be in the next room. I think I can see the door."

Ludwig steps into the engine room, looks around for a bit and without finding anything interesting heads for the storehouse doors. The doors have a cap and Ludwig tries to wank them open by hand, failing that he takes a beam that had fallen from the ceiling and janked with it, still nothing.

"Hey, Strife, come and help me out here."
