I have a beef with modern guys. They've got no sense of honour. If somebody, such as I, challenges you to a duel to see who gets to court the girl, you either duel me (even though the duel is with Pokemon cards because I can't use a sword for my life and for some bizarre reason it's illegal) or you relinquish your suit of her. You don't get to not duel and still court her. That's a horribly cowardly thing to do, and much worse is the fact that nobody seems to care.

If you have to have a duel over it, at what point has the woman's feelings on the matter been considered? Is she already your girlfriend, and if so, can't you already tell him to screw off? If she's not already your girlfriend, what gives you the right to call her your girl?

In any case, your whole "courting" thing is very, very outdated. People don't duel over starting relationships.

False dichotomy. There's no reason to do either; You're simply making a conscious choice between the two of them without giving yourself a chance at other options. There's no reason to choose the lesser of two evils because there are more than two evils, and there are a good number of goods to be chosen from.
