...it's too dangerous to start agriculture right away at the river. Can I have a designated space for it?

Gethor eats. Using tools and knive, Gethor started to chop one log into firewood. Afterwards he tried to craft the other 2 logs into beds. And if there is still time left, plant the vines.

Sandow

Use brains/intuition to analyze the arrow drawings over the cave.

8 hours: Preserve foods in danger of going bad, Cook soup meals for later, use fish, water and plant matter.

8 hours: Train swordsmanship while Golem diggs. Create a 2x3 room.

the rest: sleep, golem guards

So far, there is a six-eight foot tunnel going northeast just inside the cave, and a large pit outside it.

Zazit, after chowing down and taking a swig of stone rum, continues to work on the tunnel, adding small rooms along one side of the tunnel

I want to be a migrant. This looks fun :).
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'll be the fort's medic. Because I knew there would be trouble, notice how surgeon is above doctor.
PS: the dog's a giant Schauzer. He's high of 27 inches, is that enough for a little dwarf?

How many actions may we take per day?

Boring actions like eating should probably be free actions. In fact, you might want to abstract eating and sleeping and such right out, and just make going without sleep or not taking the time to eat some kind of bonus you apply to some actions in exchange for accruing penalties later.

Anyway, Tholtig eats some scrap sausage and sugar ale, then attempts to create a fishery from some stone, outside the entrance but near the river. All these fish weren't going to gut themselves, after all, and there wasn't much she could do at the moment.

Yes, I'll give you a map of the interior of the cave and update both when anything major happens.
Turns are usually about four-eight hours, but I'm not really going to put a solid timeline in. So, multiple turns in one day, usually.
Eating and the like is a free action, and sleeping happens automatically at night unless you want to stay awake or sleep purposefully.

"So basicly," He says as he finishes off his report of the main interior of the Cave, "Unless the original inhabitiants are dead or absent right now, we shouldn't have much problems, Kobolds or such I believe, nothing to show signs of a large community of them, Azen and myself could easily remove them if they become a threat. And that Golam, if that doesn't scare them living snot out of the creatures when they see it, I think it could make Paste out of them..."

Neyvn looked over at the Golam at work, regarding it as something slightly unnatural. Putting his fingers to his lips a Shrill whistle escaped them and the Riding Dog who had been sleeping in the sun near the wagon climbed to its feet and troddled over to him.

"This one here will take watch around the area, it too should scare most critters just on sight but she'll return to me if any danger comes with a mighty bark..." He ruffled the fur around the beast's neck, an act that returned a big tongue across his face as thanks. He chuckled at he wiped the slop of his face before putting a Cavern Stalk into his mouth like a pipe, "Meanwhile I will get to work bringing down a few of these trees for ya all, I wouldn't mind a simple Palisade around the Camp soon..."

Neyvn, Eats Cavern Stalk and Drinks any drink at random, quality mattering little. He then gets to work cutting down trees with his axe, his riding dog goes on look out around the cave entrance mainly but does patrol the local area.

Myit goes hunting all day with his canine companion (hunting dog). If he ends up getting a kill, he'll immediately bring it back and figure out the best means of which to butcher it.

The dwarves eat, and the guards depart with promises to return in the winter with a caravan.
Gethor begins working on the trees felled the previous night, using one of the spare axes to chop them into logs. Unfortunately, his lack of experience with the task lead to one of them being made unusable for anything but firewood.
With the two workable piles of logs, he begins carving simple beds. One is finished, crude but better than the hard cavern floor.

Sandow looks over the markings near the cave, but cannot draw any firm conclusions as to their origins.
Using water from the river, some jerky, some crackers, and the remaining sausage, he makes a simple stew inthe sausage's barrel. It tastes marvelous, much better than its component ingredients would on their own.
After, he supervises the golem while it digs, practicing with his rapier.

Zazit takes the pick and begins refining the tunnel. He carves out four square rooms, four feet to a side. Feeling refreshed by the rest and meal, he does an exceptional job at preserving workable stone.

Tholtig takes a flatish hunk of stone from the previous night, and tries her hand at gutting fish near the river.
It proves to be far easier than she thought, and she cleans ten of them using a utility knife, getting all the meat but losing some bones.

Nevyn goes to attack the trees lower down the mountain, but they prove a tougher opponent than Azen's last night, and only one is felled and drug back to camp.

Myit, following the tracks of many deer, comes across a herd. He notches an arrow in his bow, and strikes a young male through the heart. It falls dead, breaking the arrow.
He returns to camp with his kill.

Azen inspects the cave, keeping a look out for hostiles. He sees some shapes moving in the darkness of the ceiling, and the plants deeper in rustle when he approaches, but he sees no actual creatures except a few fish.

12 sausage, 6 jerky, 6 crackers, and 1 cavern stalk lost. 2 Stone Rum, 2 Pork Rum, and 3 Sugar Ale lost.
18 Exceptional Stew gained.
3 logs lost.
1 Refined log, 1 Primitive bed, and 1 Firewood gained. 1 log gained.
1 stone lost, 8 gained.
10 fish lost, 10 Prepared fish and 5 fish bones gained.
1 Arrow lost, 1 Deer Corpse gained.

~Midday~

Maps coming soon.

Zazit will dig three more rooms across from the others, and then will smooth off the walls of each of the seven rooms.

Great. A deer.

Gethor began to copy the markings using ink and paper. Someone back may be able to work out them, after all, and unless we are removing that wholesale it is better to use paper. Afterwards, he continued with another bed.

Okay, folks. What kind of defense do we need? A stone wall, or a palisade?

Zazit, I'd like a safe location to kickstart farming.
