Well you had all those levels of cross shaped tunnels, what did you expect me to do with it...

Plus tantrum spirals were really bad, seeing as how must people didn't have rooms or anything. I was just dealing with that problem so we can build up a nice base. It is a shame I never got around to setting up underground farming (river froze), so I could pretend that the base up above is nothing but a front.

Oh, and maybe tomorrow I will draw that. I am sorry, but recently I got a brand new job with really good hours, but it cuts into my dwarf fortress time.

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

Hey remember this?

If you use a tileset (like me) please be kind and reset the raws to the original values before uploading.

This never stopped being a thing.

=/

(this is actually completely unrelated to me not posting for two days)

well i figured that resetting the raws would be more of a common courtesy than an official rule... but if common courtesy isn't that common anymore i'll make it one.

also, you may want to watch out for that lone goblin Elite Crossbowman. he'll slaughter anything weather it's behind fortifications or not.

Have you tried ballistas? Already killed 5 gobbo elite bowmen with 1 ballista.

i haven't gotten around to messing with siege engines yet...they just seem to bulky and inflexible.

Yeah, I saw the elite crossbowgoblin. I also considered siege engines, but I didn't see any lying around (except for the eight catapults right into a wall for reasons I don't quite get) and I don't think I can safely build one at this time.

Catapults built facing a wall are generally used for moving stone - faster to collect it, shoot it, and let it fall into a pile - it also trains your siege operators I believe...

The training makes sense, but there's no effective moving in this catapult battery. It fires one space into a trench one deep that leads nowhere.

Might be a good place to start a rock crafts facility, or the bottom of a stairwell leading up to a surface megaproject?

I am sorry but I thought I had reset them. I am on satellite internet and my upload speed is abhorrent. By the time I realized that I hadn't, I had spent two hours uploading the save. Common courtesy or not I wasn't going to do it again. If that is a problem I will abstain from this game...

sorry if i came off a bit rude, and i would hate to see someone walk away from a game for such a small misunderstanding.

EDIT:

just read the update, looks like this fort is quickly heading towards a big steaming pile of !!FUN!!
