Wallslaughters - Sucession Fort [31.25] sign-up thread
« on: May 25, 2011, 06:57:03 pm »

I've participated in a few succession games (different forums) and i thought I'd try my hand at running one.

Standard rules for Succession games, each turn is one in game year / one real life week (extensions possible for extra dwarfy projects) , please leave the fortress playable for the next person on the list. If the fort ends up falling and there are still more players in line the next player can choose to reclaim.

the goal of this fortress is to build a massive above ground defense complex. players will add to the complex during their turn creating anything from archery vantage points to complex magma/water traps or even an atom smasher maze if you're up to it!.

Secondary goal: Piss of the Elves as much as dwarvenly possible, kill caravans, confiscate goods, clear cut forests, the whole deal. Players may NOT conduct trade with elves unless it is for offering them wooden products.

There is one very important rule that all players MUST abide by: to the best extent of your abilities you must keep all previous overseers alive (even if they're nobles)

If it's your turn you have 3 days to respond or you will be skipped. i'll PM you when it's your turn.

Please place all journal entries in the following thread:
JOURNAL ENTRIES HERE (just post a reply to let us know you've updated)
please try to keep your Journals contained in a single post, it's a lot cleaner looking that way.

the game will start when at least 6 people have signed up.

Once your turn is done you may ask for another and you will be placed at the end of the list.

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

Yeah, sign me up. Preferably as a mechanic. I'd love to try my hand at a succession game. Turn 8 would be brilliant. :)

My first, too. I'd like to join, anyways and rather earlier as I figure it will be easier and less messy. ;-)
So, as I see it, #2 is still free, right?

Also, we are using vanilla .25, right? But graphical tilesets and DwarfTherapist won't be a problem, will they?

Oh I love it how SG lowers your expectations.

I would like a turn. Just so you know though, I have been playing long enough to not be a noob but most of my better projects were ruined by terrible luck. In fact almost all of my bases get ruined by bizarre circumstances.

I'd like to join, I'm not amazing with magma and channeling fluids, but I think I could make some interesting things for this succession game.

i'll put up a backstory when my turn starts (later tonight hopefully), and if you guys want we could do a live like a human challenge. i was originally planning on doing it that way but wasn't sure how well it would go over.

Also, we are using vanilla .25, right? But graphical tilesets and DwarfTherapist won't be a problem, will they?

Yes vanilla .25. If you use a tileset (like me) please be kind and reset the raws to the original values before uploading. easy to do if you have LNP. Dwarf Therapist and any other application (except DFLiquids, DFReveal and RuneSmith) may be used.

Genning the world now.
