This game is pretty funny, but it seems to crash often (playing windows version). And wizards are ridiculous.

Download the hotfix if you haven't. Also, yes, the wizards are crazy to play. My favorite type of character.

Unfortunately, it seems to disable achievements if you're going to use the hotfix (doesn't matter if you're not playing for the cheevos), so yeah.

Is it wrong that this game seems to get the most play out of everything I bought over the Winter sale? Everything else is "Ugh...I don't have two hours to spend on an EU3 game" or "The kids are around, I don't want to be playing STALKER/Left4Dead in front of them".

"Oh hey, I'll just play 15-20 minutes on Dredmor."

Two hours later..... :-\

I just wish recipes could carry over somehow. It gets frustrating finding a really good smithing or tinkering recipe that's totally useless for the current character. And then never finding it again when I have a character built for that recipe.

EDIT: Also, is the DLC worth getting? I know it's cheap as dirt anyways, but...

I don't play many of the DLC classes(Except Demonolology because the Circle spell is amazing, grants like and extra 50 to block and magic resistance), but it has a buncha new room elements in the dungeon which are fun to have around. And more varied enemies.

Welcome to roguelikes, ahahahahaha!

DLC's alright. I'd recommend, I guess. Like said, is dirt cheap.

True dat. I should know better after all these years. i gotta give it to them though, they've managed to distill a lot of the core mechanics of roguelikes down into a compact, juicy, absurd package. And snuck about a zillion gaming references in there.

Bumping, as the new Expansion/DLC/Update/Whatever-you-want-to-call-it is coming out the 5th, which is today for most places.

Adds four new skills, improves the existing ones, and basically adds a bunch of other stuff.

The best part? It's entirely free.

Also, Steam Workshop integration.

For the low low price of 5.00 nil dollars? Oh yes.

It's out on Steam!

If your Steam doesn't detect it, try exiting and restarting.

Edit: it doesn't show up in the Properties/DLC list.  But the files did get updated.

Edit: ⇩  Yes, it must be on a timer.  It's in there, the version is 1.0.11 and the Credits button lists the mod DLC, but it's not live either from the launcher's Mod button or from the normal start game menus.  Grr.

Mine downloaded a 37 MB patch but even after restarting Steam and trying to start a new game there's still no new skills, I'm gonna guess maybe it's on some timer or something.

The gaslamp site says "Valve's working on it." So that's something, at least.

First game I've owned that had Steam workshop support, and first impressions are, it looks pretty good. Might be time to try out some mods, I think.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

It's working.

I can't check now because they took the GLG server down for a bit, but I think the GLG Twitter is more up to date and better for keeping track of this kind of thing.
