I knew the old saves were borked, but I tried one anyway. The game crashed and I got an achievement for it.

I was slightly pissed because of my awesome wizard before, but not anymore.

EDIT: Lol, they added the extra warnings, but just quitting doesnt kill permadeath characters anymore cause they only get deleted when killed.

Does anyone know if there's some kind of skill list out there? I don't own the game yet, but I'd like to see what skills I'll use when I do.  :)
Check the wikis.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I think that maybe the devs are being too hard on themselves. This happens way to much when an indie game becomes a massive hit straight out of left field.

Thanks, didn't know there was a wiki for this game yet.

The wiki rule: Whatever it is, there is a wiki for it.

They say on their website that they'll have the saves fixed. Keep them sitting around people, don't delete them!

Was it a terrible shield or was it actually ok?

It was pretty okay actually, I hadn't seen an orb shield with that many stat bonusses before. I also stole a staff worth 56k from the shop on level 1. The pig didn't notice it :D Until I accidently walked towards another shop, getting the message ''You stole blablabla'' and getting my ass kicked by the shop keeper. Those dreads aren't that bad actually, my fire rune took care of those pretty easily :)

Is there a orb with max stars ? As far i only seen one worse (the black hole) and it was a huge boost compared to lesser ones and i wonder how much more powerful could the best be ..

Actually I didn't have trouble with the dreads when I tried stealing. It was Brax himself that gave me trouble.

Out of curiosity, do the stars on items actually do anything?  I've occasionally found rings with a high number of stars but only one small stat increase on it, so it doesn't always seem to relate directly to how powerful an item is.

Well, some stats are better than others and stars do have some sort of bearing on item quality. I think random artifacts don't get higher stars- it generally only uses the stars for the base of the object. Let's say you get enchanted plate mail. The stars on that item are the same as nonenchanted platemail. At least, that's what I think. An enchanted 2 star weapon can be better than a plain 5 star one. However, 10 star weapons are a good thing to have around by any count...

Yeah, each item has a set of tiered bases, from 1-10.
