Besides that, the second level Psionics spell can push the artifact off the island. I really wonder if there's another way, it seems kind of cruel to just leave artifacts lying around that can only be accessed if you decided to take one of a couple specific skill trees. Are there teleport potions/push wands or anything? I think I recall having a potion with a teleportish description that I didn't use before I died.

There's something called the handy wand, but no idea what it does.

handy wand deals minor damage and pushed creatures back, have not tried it on items yet.

it pushes items but you need to cast it at a monster first

You can cast it at yourself.

Just picked this up. First thing I noticed? "Losing is Fun!", haha! What shall I do first? The tutorial or be a crazy dwarf and delve right into it?

I still haven't done the tutorial. Maybe it helps? I don't know. But if you're familiar with roguelikes you shouldn't have any trouble jumping right in.

hmmm.... this game has both, powdered aluminum and rust in it. i wonder if you can craft termite. also: my most successful character as off yet:

Powdered aluminium plus rust does indeed give you a thermite bomb!

I'm enjoying an all crafting build, but I now realise my pick of alchemy was wasted. Assassin, sword and shield complementing tinker smith alchemy and the fungal arts. It's all fun, apart from the wasted alchemy.

The game is horribly broken in multiple ways, but I still havent beaten it(havent played on easy though).

That fire trap is fucking ludicrous. It'll flatten almost anything on level 2 that's within 4 tiles. <3 it.
