Round 1: He's dead, Sullivan
« Reply #15 on: May 24, 2011, 03:08:59 pm »

Close in to the triangle man ship. Then open fiah
(2)(+1[tactics/intelligence]) You begin to open fire on the Traingleman vessel, however you didn't manage to do much besides knock out most of their weapons systems, at this rate, it may take a while.

Go through my ship's roster and rate people 1 through 10 on how likely they are to need to be airlocked, with my first mate being a 10 and myself being a 1 for the basis of comparison. Then order the crew to find a weak ship to pillage and pay attention to everyone's reactions, especially those rated at least a 6. The buggers.
Well, looking through the various monitors, you can see that the engineering boys are throttling each other with their new tentacles. That's about a 9. Everything looks alright in navigation except that Olon is asleep at his post aga- Oh wait, he's dead. You rate the nav crew a 6, just to be safe. Urist is in the hallway trying to lift up the floor panels with raw and bloody fingers, that probably constitutes a 7. The boys in the crew's quarters look OK, except that one of them has sprouted a third arm and doesn't seem to notice. You give them a 4. The boys in the cargo hold are... Where are they? What was that? Why did the cargo hold cameras just go dark? You're guessing the cargo hold crew is a 10, but you're not quite sure how you're going to keep an eye on them if you can't see them.
You spot a small transport ship in the distance, but before you can tell the crew to disable the engines and climb aboard, they open fire and the ship is destroyed. You watch with disappointment as you watch the occupants' luggage, blown open by the decompression, sail off towards the sun.

Take stock of crew aboard New Moscow.
There are a lot of people aboard the station. As far as you know, there are over 600 people living aboard the station, and that's not counting the tourists. So far, 25 workers have joined your cause, and it's a long way to the Tsar's palatial quarters, filled with guards and security measures. However, the guards are changing shifts in 5 minutes, so now would be the best time to strike.

Grunt sourly and go back to sleep, unless the ship gets down to the point that I have to hitch on the opposing side I'm not bothering with the effort of getting out of bed.
You grumble and settle back down in your cargo crate. Another explosion tips the crate over and you come tumbling out, this isn't a very good wake-up call.

Sons of bitches, every last one of 'em! Reprimand the crew for jumping the gun and wasting valuable cargo, then look about on the navcom for a deserted planet we can dump this artifact on.

Swearing heavily he dusted himself off, honestly couldn't the dead rest without being disturbed? On reflection that was a pretty obvious 'no' given his condition, but still. The man paced around for a minute before deciding to find out what the ruckus was, if he passed a window though he was giving the damn attacking ship the Finger.

Wait for somebody who looks like they know what they're doing, then follow them.

Round 2: Fire in the hole!
« Reply #20 on: May 24, 2011, 08:18:32 pm »

Focus fire on the bridge
(5) The bridge explodes and several Trianglemen are sucked out into the vacuum before blast doors seal the bridge off from the rest of the ship. The ship, which had been turning away from you, stops and begins to drift without power off into the distance. That ship may have coordinates to the Triangleman home-world on it. Now would be the best time to come aboard and grab them.

Reprimand the crew for jumping the gun and wasting valuable cargo, then look about on the navcom for a deserted planet we can dump this artifact on.
You yell at the crew for wasting shots and cargo. The bridge crew reports that "It wasn't our fault!" In the background you can hear what you can only assume is a dark chant, while on the monitor you see Regis drawing symbols with Olon's blood. You elevate the bridge crew to a 7.
As for the navcom, that's on the bridge, and you're currently in your quarters. Your first-mate screams incoherently from the closet and rattles the door. I don't think you'd mind leaving.

Hold a meeting in support for our cause, to gather followers.
(2)(+1[charisma]) You hand out flyers to the residents of the engineering bay. Hardly anyone new shows up. You have maybe 30-35 supporters for the cause. The guards are checking their watches and leaving their posts. It's now or tomorrow.

Wait for somebody who looks like they know what they're doing, then follow them.

There's a man in a captain's hat storming up the stairs. (1)(+1[stealth]) He sees you and whacks you on the head in surprise(HP -1), but is even more surprised when you say "Ow.". "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were a smart one. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to the bridge."

Stab that sonuvabitch daring to call himself my first mate through the closet door with my cutlass, then head downstairs to the navcom. If any crew try to stop me, use this fork condition: If Rating is > 5, hack them up; if Rating is < or = 5, push them out of my way. I've got more important concerns.

"Happens all the time... The dark man gumbled, watching the captain go on his way. All in all it was a stroke of good luck, he followed the captain. Hopefully he would learn something interesting, like where the other ship was going and whether they were in a mood to pick up hitchhikers.

Yarrr! Grab ye spacesuits and board that ship!
You all pile into a suit and jump out the airlock. (1)(+1[dexterity]) Your initial jump sends you wildly off course, but you manage to use your thruster pack to correct the direction and end up slamming into the side of the ship. Chunks of your pack fly off and the helmet develops a slight crack, but you manage to get to the other ship's airlock without any additional trouble. This ship is much larger than yours, and you have no idea of the layout. Also, it's hard for you all to walk around in that suit under the ship's gravity.

(4) You stab your first mate through the closet door with a nice squelch as he screams in pain and passes out. Just as you're about to leave, Urist comes in from the hall and also falls unconscious, his hands bleeding all over the floor. You make it to the bridge without further troubles, but the only person left when you arrive is Olon, and he's dead. Everyone in the bridge is gone. Their only trace is half-drawn, bloody symbols on the floor. Where is everyone?

Seize the bridge/bridge equivilant!
(6) The comms tower seems to be the best target. Your men burst in, guns blazing, killing all the guards and taking the rest hostage. Unfortunately, one of the communications officers pulled an alarm before you managed to subdue him, and the captain of the guard is on the radio, demanding to know what's going on.

Follow Captain
You follow the captain up to the bridge. The attacking ship appears to be thrown together out of scraps, it barely looks space-worthy. Then you see the red insignia painted on the side: Orks. If there's one thing you know about Orks, it's that they don't take prisoners. You should probably find an escape pod or something before the ship gets blown to pieces.

If these arseholes aren't turning into eldritch abominations they're abandoning their posts! I can't trust a single one of 'em! I trod all over the symbols so they're smudged and no longer mean anything, then chop Olon up to make sure he's not going to turn into some weird-ass monster too. Finally, I check the computers to see if there are any escape pods left and what the closest star/planet is.
