hello all. i have a superdwarven adventurer in need of a challenge, so i decided to let him pay a visit to hell.

the problem i have is when i try to visit the old fortress to

unleash hell on hell

the game just crashes to my desktop with the standard error of "dwarf fortress.exe has encountered an error bla bla bla...

anyone has any idea what causes this or how to fix it?

also, im not sure if it has to do anything with it, but the fortress site is much bigger then the standard 5x5 to increase the chance of finding a circus entrance.

Does it lag before crashing ? I know each time I get to an ancient fortress, the loading time is quite long because of all the items on the ground, and such.

nope, it doesn't lag.
the fortress is nothing but the stairs to the deeps and the wagon with basic embark stuff in it.

it's because the fort is over run by demons which will periodically spawn. if you leave the site there long enough you will end up with PC breaking numbers of demons.

this would make little sense, because i never opened hell itself, only the caverns and the curious structure.

i might also mention i'm playing with the genesis mod. just incase it has something to do with it.
