Silver took the vest, and quickly put it on before saying "Thank you I am not used to the cold my forest was much warmer than here."

"That... That was intense."

Moltern Heart bent over and took a few deep breaths to calm his nerves. As he stood straight again, he felt the elve's hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you brother. The earth mother was with me this day, he was a truely skilled opponent, moving quickly even when I sliced out his tendon. I'm glad you decided to give that ring back to me, it saved my life more than once. I can only hope that we find an enchanter to fic it."

Moltern then proceeds over to the new arrival and inspects him closely, nodding his approval.

"Greetings brother in arms. I am Moltern Heart, I do not believe I heard your message. I was fighting a very dangerous ogre at the time. I am happy to meet you."

After stretching out a bit, Moltern Heart decides to pay a visit to the shaman healers with his comrades, making sure to keep an eye out for any warrior ogres that had a grudge.

Leaves nodded to Molten Heart. "It is not necessary to thank me," he said, looking a little embarrassed. "The ring was yours, not mine. I had no right to keep it and returning it was merely the proper thing to do. Rather, I should be thanking you for allowing me to borrow it earlier." Next, he turned to Silver Tree. "It's quite all right. I'm long used to the cold, and you need it more than I. Consider it a, a welcoming gift to our fellowship." He was originally from the forest, it was true, but his forest was in a valley between several mountains, and as part of the training he put himself through he had climbed to the peak of the highest one and practiced his martial arts in the knee-deep snow, to train his endurance from the cold and his agility from the slowed movement.

Turn 48

The Chief departs, and gifts each of the Kai with fifty lumpy copper discs. The Ogres use them for currency, anyway. The Chief laughs, saying you'll just end up spending it right back into his own village anyway, so it's no loss to him!

((Everyone gets 50 Ograkoinz))

Silver Tree and Sheltering Leaves-and their respective animal companions-converse in their own language about the natural world and their lives in general. They both agree, a certain wary tenseness has crept into nature lately. Normally, it would signal a long, hard winter, but it's become so prevalent, in so many places at once...it is a worrying sign.

Silver Tree attempts to decipher more about the sphere.
((Int roll=8, fail)

Well, it's round...and made of black rock like the dungeon is. He can't figure anything else about it. He can't even really read the other words-his Kai brother Valiant Ox was the one who translated it for him. Sheltering Leaves is able to inform him this is in all liklihood the Deathstone-stolen from the catacombs recently, and its loss has led to great evil. Returning it may solve many of their woes.

*The 4th Key, partially indentified: The Deathstone, a small black orb stolen from under the Keening Willows Cemetary. It should be returned to where it was originally.

Sheltering Leaves gifts the young sprite with a spidersilk vest, which helps to chase away the cold draft of this underground realm. As he places on his Kai leathers, he believes he faintly hears the good natured clucking of the Goddess Hesani, patron of Light, Balance and Generosity...

((Sheltering Leaves has gained Blessing of Luck! +1 to all rolls, until he fails a skill roll or is struck in battle))

The Ogre Merchants are set up-there's weapon and armor dealers, Shamans preforming blessings and selling strange trinkets and medical items, along with a few others travellers, who smelling a chance at business, have made their way here...hey, why does that mustached Kobold look so familiar? The Ring Seller Kirknak has appeared! How did he get here so fast?

-------
The other Kai retire to the Houses of Mending. Ogre Shamans healing is like everything else they do or build-crude, but effective. The Kai are treated to an exotic treatment of stinging poultices, cold creams and foul smelling incense, presided over by the Head Shaman, who chants to obtain the blessings of their ancestors. He seems worried though...Pressing Tide, carrying the head of Darain, strikes up a conversation with him.

"Bad news, I'm afraid. The Shaman says that contact with the spirits has been getting more and more difficult lately...when the trouble started in the catacombs. He says that it's almost as if the spirits of the ancestors and the dead are being drawn somewhere against their will. It's greatly troubled all who try to commune with them. On Orc spirits, he confirms the same problems as they're having...no one can speak to the spirits clearly, and many of the Shaman are beginning to consider mustering their people to move away from this place."

---------
Blade Singer falls into a restful sleep. In this dream, he is King, on an empty throne, attended by his Elven courtiers. A future that never was? War Wind's angry, naked spirit tries to disturb him by acting like a rude jester, but Blade Singer orders his Guards to take the impudent lizard to the dungeon. A fitting sentence! All bow before King Blade Singer!

War Winds restless ghost rages impotently in his spirit cell. Darn.
--------
Molten Heart keeps a close watch for reprisal attacks, but it seems most of the warrior Ogres are more keen to get drunk for now then take revenge.

Fuzghurk approaches Molten Heart later, and confesses that you are the better warrior-and he looks forward to a rematch on day, on your terms instead of his. Off the battlefield, he seems a likeable enough Ogre, humble and calm, if a little depressed.. Darain translates, like always

"Fuzghurk claims he will try to convince his fellow warriors to forswear vengeance. He holds no grudge against you, personally. He's just depressed his father will never respect him now...then again, nothing he's ever done achieved that, so he doubts beating you would have been any different.

Ah, he's asking if your wondering how he managed to hit you so hard? He says he might be able to teach you a secret-if it's considered repayment of the life debt he owes you for sparing him."

Fuzghurk smiles a toothy grin. Molten Heart did not doubt the Ogres strength was substantial, but that could not explain the explosive impacts he felt during the battle. The weapon itself was also unenchanted, Molten Heart clearly saw. Well made, yet mundane...

((Ya'll got max health btw))

-Spirit Turn-

War Winds concentrates, and breaks out of his cell, evading Blade Singers Dream Guards (who all look like Sheltering Leaves, oddly enough)

Freedom!

Wait.

He feels himself being pulled...he struggles, but it's no use. He's been pulled back to the catacombs, as if by an invisible tidal force...War Wind can't fight this. He relents, and allows himself to float listlessly, to whatever end, he's not sure he wants to know...

Beat up War Wind in an overblown dream sequence filled with explosions and elven maidens. And sunglasses.

Oh gog. Should I be worried about interacting with Blade Singer in the future? :P

It was an Inception reference.

I've never seen the movie, though.  :o

Specifically I was referring to the fact that the elven maidens look like Leaves. :o

What is this red dwarf you speak of? Also, Inception is the bestest movie ever. EVAR. You should totally watch it when you can.

"Darain, translate this as best you can.

You are indeed a mighty and worthy opponent, worthy of all respect and glory that you rightfully deserve. In fact, I almost died multiple times in our fight. Truely, it was an honour battling you. You also have my gratefulness for your attempts at soothing the warriors tempers. I do not wish to fight when it is not needed."

Moltern heart places a fist against a vertical palm infront of him and bows deeply in a sign of respect.

"I confess, I do not know how you put so much force into your blows. I could tell your weapon was unenchanted, I am a weaponsmith after all, but I am at a miss for how you accomplished such great blows. I would be glad for you to teach me such a technique, I think it will have great use where I am going. "
