Turn 3Sheltered Leaves VS Ghost Wake
Sheltered Leaves first thought is that he may have badly underestimated Ghost Wakes reserves of stamina. He barely seems to have slowed down at all! Ghost wake circles warily, using his swords reach to keep Leaves at bay-for the moment, he does not attack, but tries the same mental trick he used earlier. You feel the pitch of maddened voices begin to build in your head...but, you are prepared. Using your preliminary mind shielding technique, you construct a fortress made of null emotions, and you duck a hasty and poorly aimed blow with a backwards leap. You can feel the mental attack roll off your mind like a very strong breeze...it takes a different toll however.
The Elven mind is not meant to be constrained to mortal concepts like time-either against your will or not. An Elven mind must live hundreds, or even thousands of years, and it is well equipped to do so by living with one foot rooted in the future, and one foot firmly rooted in the past. Your greatest struggle in your Kai training has been to try and think in the *short term*-like a younger race, and concentrate on the here and now. Needless to say, it is not easy to keep your thoughts from wandering off into waking dreams and long ruminations, while for example, a dueling Kai strikes his long thin blade into your right breastbone. This is a taunting blow, usually done during fencing competitions to indicate a point gained by the opposing duelist...the nerve of him! You wonder why... Sheltering Leaves desperately shakes away these thoughts. He must keep his head!
Ghost Wake comes in for another lunging blow, but this time Sheltering Leaves is ready. He twists his body at a impossible angle-for a human anyway-, out of the way of the thrust, and gives Ghost Wake something to remember him by with a punch to the chin, to pay him back for his own cheap blow on Silent Wanderer.
Beaten back a step and bleeding a bit from his mouth, he stumbles and then rises, smiling. You feel his psionic attack reassume beating on your mind fortress, but it's making no progess-the same mindset that puts you at a disadvantage mentally, also makes it difficult for him to strike you from that angle..
Expecting a sudden attack, you ready yourself for more fancy dancing and acrobatic moves. But he does nothing. In fact, he stands still and hides his blade behind his back. What trick is this? Is he yielding? Your Elven senses tell you to wait and think, but your Kai training tells you to seize the intiative...you decided to go for it, using a simple enough tactic-tackle and disarm. An opponent that loses his weapon is considered to be beaten...but, still Ghost Wake doesn't move. Your a half a step away from shoving him into the far wall, when he vanishes. No one should be able to move that fast...in all your years, no one has been that fast. You feel his blade at the back of your neck, touching upon your spinal cord. Somehow he got behind you, and has you at his mercy with his backhand. This duel is over. Ghost Wake dispenses with the theatrics this time-everyone does, actually.
It's time for the real fight now.
Ghost Wake wins!

Four of the Kai warriors volunteer to join the incoming raid. War Wind is still off gathering...and they cannot long wait for him to return.
Swift Water speaks quickly as he shoulders his war gear and mounts his steed.
We recieved word not long ago, the 5th army sent ahead a small cavalry force of it's own to establish a base for supplies. Too bad they didn't bother to send word to us-we could of told them the dead end gorge they were using was a natural spot for an ambush. Which is what happened. Last we heard, roughly 25 unmounted soldiers are trying to hold off double that number in Darkspawn-the battle has stalemated, but it's likely the enemy is just waiting till nightfall...they won't see another morning, unless we can help. Yes, it's almost certainly a trap for us. Once they now the Kai have come in force, we might attract attention of the worst kind. It can't be helped...
Mount up men! Show them no mercy! For Sommerlund and the Kai! He rides off at the head of the party, and following him, around 15 Kai warriors, Green cloaks shrouding them like armor.
OOC: If Taricus posts in time, he can still join the battle a little late.
