Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sheltering Leaves drops into a position of pefect balance, attempting to rid himself of the last of the poison...he grimaces-the pain is incredible, and moves too rapidly for him to counterreact it. By the time he's purged it entirely, the Shade Cap has already done its worse. Sheltering Leaves feel exhausted, but he's still alive-amazing, since the dose he got was enough to kill ten normal men.

Merame eventually scampers up to you, holding a familiar blue vial-a bit late, but you appreciate it. You doubt this Acolyte was the only one with a poisoned weapon. Your sure that there's more antidotes where this came from...

War Wind, Silent Fox, Mending Moon VS Acolyte Sniper

The sniper is more than ready to shoot someone, but she doesn't have any targets!

War Wind, sheltering behind the stone, decides to focus on a...unique strategy-perversion. Needless to say, it takes the sniper off guard-she finds her own mental attack reflected back to her! War Wind feels his own strength returning! The sniper is so off put by the attack, she doesn't even see Mending Moon sneaking up behind her with his bow. He patiently waits till a flash of lightning illuminates her, hiding behind a stone, and let's fly with an well placed arrow! It should have embedded itself in the Acolytes heart, but she makes a motion with her finger as she was flicking an insect out of the air, and arrow diverts from it's course-even then, it buries itself in her shoulder...

She glares at Moon angrily and raises her own crossbow to fire! She has deadly aim-in a fit of inspiration, Mending Moon emulates her tactic, and concentrates on his mind over matter power to deflect the bolt from striking his chest-what might have been a fatal blow merely carves a nasty furrow on his scalp. The Acolyte Sniper curses and tosses her crossbow to the ground, drawing out a long sword from her belt-she charges at Mending Moon!

Silent Fox remains hidden...

Mending Moon -1 arrow, -6 HP
War Wind recovers from mindblast
Acolyte Sniper -12 HP, mindblasted/-1 agi, str

Leaf picked up the kris and searched the man's body for its sheath. When he found it, he took it and put the kris in it, to prevent any accidents. "Merame. I'm trusting you with this." He handed the kris to her. "I might need you to help me fight. Don't draw it unless I tell you." Merame nodded, still looking worried. "OK Leaf." He knew she was doubtful about her abilities to fight, but with that poison on the blade, she wouldn't need to be too precise, and he told her so. "Let's head further in. Stick to the shadows and let me draw any attention."

Sheltering Leaves
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sheltering Leaves presses his hands against the door-it's cold to the touch-and attempts to shift it sideaways. It doesn't budge. He figures there must be a way in...one that only a descendant of a Kai could use. He's not trained in Mind over Matter, but he knows enough how to use it here-he extends his will to the door itself, reaching inside with hand made of willpower instead of flesh. It takes almost ten minutes, but he eventually finds the switch, and flicks it carefully.

Whirring mechanisms within spring to life, and door rolls to the side, revealing stairs leading down into darkness. Despite the acolytes words, most young Kai actually cannot see and fight in perfect pitch black darkness. He picks up the acolytes candle and goes down the steps carefully. Merame follows in the back, using her senses to help warn him of traps.

He knows there has to be some down here. So, it's not surprising he activates the first one-by stepping on an unremarkable flat stone, that activates despite the Elves light weight, and sends a previously concealed hammer swinging from the ceiling on a pivot. He tosses himself to the ground, dodging the hammer but landing badly, painfully twisting his left knee. Still, it could have been worse...he doesn't think there's any permanent damage.

Sheltering Leaves sees the next one easily, a trapdoor in the floor-how cliched! Merame mentions she smells old, dry bones at the bottom...

He spots the next one as his candlelight reflects it-a razor thin wire snare. He wisely sidesteps, pressing himself up against the wall, and while congratulating himself, stumbles into it's wisely concealed brother! He bumps into a slightly protruding brick, and as it falls away, a blade emerges from the wall and buzzes angrily toward him. Sheltering Leaves bends his body backwards and the blade passes over-he see's one of his fine hairs parted in two as it passes over. Close...he stands back up, grimacing at the crack in his spine, and continues forward.

He seems to have reached the end of the first hallway-there's two doors located to his left and right, similar to the entrance he passed through, and another set of stairs spiraling downward. His candle burns brightly, but it's the only light has has. Other than Merames breathing, all he can hear is the steady drip of water seeping down through the stone from the storm. Sheltering Leaves suddenly realizes how weary he is...between his numerous injuries and the after effects of the poison, he's getting close to his limits.

health below 50%

War Wind, Silent Fox, Mending Moon VS Acolyte Sniper

The mental tug of war continues between War Wind and the Sniper, but she manages to fight him off this time...

Reacting quickly, Mending Moon tucks into a ball and rolls away! The acolyte is not fooled, though, as she continues to charge toward the Goblin healer, Silent Fox intercedes-he commands the muddy ground of the graveyard to fall away before her feet, and then closes it over her. Six feet under...he waits a few moments to see if she will find a way out, but the sniper is gone from this world.

Mending Moon finds War Wind, and attends his chest wound as best he can-he does a quick, through job with a needle-the best he can do in this weather and time of night. Once he's satisfied, he turns and pulls the bolt of his shoulders, before applying the poultice. Now, where did Sheltering Leaves go off to?

As much as I'd like to see you guys stumble into all the traps, you'll need a light source to travel down there. Silent Fox can produce fire from one of his element spheres, but that will only last one turn at a time if not used to light anything.

Goblin's 60ft darkvision?  Or not...
Oh, mind over matter to determine the position of the walls and traps?
