*headsmack* I knew I forgot something as soon as I saw Ahra post. Edited in stats for his 'other' weapon. ;)

broken swing chain +4 damage/ long range cancels reach weapons, takes one round to spin up for attack

In fact, he'll have to be immune to Ahras reach weapon anyway...since it has no agility. doof. >_>

Hey, I'm totally winging it here. That's how all the cool GM's do it.  8)

Also, it okay to scream. I can rationalize it though-you can't stop something that big by poking it. You can hurt him, but you won't force him back.

Leaf released a deep breath slowly. Like it or not, they would have to defeat this monster now. If they let it escape, it might kill innocent civilians. He couldn't let that happen. "Merame, hide. I'm going to fight." "Be careful, OK?" As the monkey scampered off, Leaf ran at the Gouraz from behind, targeting the right leg.

Leaf's Battle Plan: Concentrate exclusively on the legs until they are disabled, then the arms, then the head.

Mending moon quickly stores his healing kit and pulls forth his longbow.  "This will not be good," he thinks to himself.  Seeing Leaf dashing towards the beast's legs, he decides to provide a distraction by shooting the beast in the eye, running if he succeeds.

Turn 6

Lone Wanderer: Attempt flank
Sheltering Leaves: Attempt flank
Silent Fox: Use hungry earth, -auto- magic attack
Mending Moon: Distract, fire an arrow in the eye
War Wind: Join the fight

-----------------------------

Mending Moon
(Frontal Distraction agility roll:4, pass, all party members get -2 bonus to pass agility flanking rolls on this round, you cannot flank yourself)
(Mending Moon Agi roll:5, pass) (int roll:1, pass, hit!, damage 5-5+5, armor negated, headshot! Special effect 1d3=1)

The Kai quickly engage the beast, realizing how dangerous it will be once it has recovered from its sleep...Mending Moon is the first to arrive, taunting the beast loudly and loosing an arrow at the creatures head! It flies true, but the Gourgaz blinks reflexively, and the arrow that should have blinded him is instead deflected into his armored eyelid, gouging deep in the knotted flesh above his right eye, causing a jet of blood to spurt out. It hurts him-momentarily blinded by pain, the Gourgaz screams in rage.

-1 arrow
Gourgaz -5 HP, -5 head armor, right eye damaged, -1 to all stats when attacked or attacking targets from the right side for next round

Sheltering Leaves
(Agility Flank roll 3-2=1, pass)
(Str Roll 2, Hit! damage 5-2+1=4x2=8 flank bonus, armor negated, right leg hit)

Sheltering Leaves sneaks in from the rear, and the Gourgaz is completely unaware of his approach. Summoning all his speed, he launches himself toward the beasts right leg-he knows the creatures peripheral vision was damaged by Mending Moons arrow-and launches a heavy roundhouse kick toward the vulnerable joint. He hears a sickening crack, and a thin trickle of greenish blue blood seeps from the wound. The beast turns to Sheltering Leaves with it's one watery red eye, glaring at him balefully.

Gourgaz -8 HP, -8 right leg armor

Silent Fox
(Silent Fox casts Hungry Earth, Int roll 6-2=4, pass Gourgaz Str Resist roll=3+2=5, pass)
(Silent Fox 6th sense roll for (4) turns)
(Silent Fox Int Roll:2, pass (7-2+2=7,armor absorbs 4, location 5, Torso)

Silent Fox decides its best if he fight from afar, using magic-a wise move, for the Gourgaz is not intelligent enough to connect magical attacks to those who cast them indirectly. He first attempts to swallow the creatures legs in Earth, but it is ineffective. He cannot manage to make it deep enough to hamper the Gourgaz, who merely uses his long spade like claws to unearth his legs. Cursing, he instead raises a small sphere of Earth and sprays a fan of hardened shrapnel at the Gourgaz's chest-direct hit! He didn't do much damage, but he did shear away some of those tough scales.

Gourgaz -3 HP, -7 Torso Armor

Lone Wanderer
(Agility Flank Roll 9-2=7, fail)
(Str roll:6, pass (Damage 8-6+2=4 armor absorbs location 5, Torso)

Lone Wanderer moves in next, holding his glaive defensively, attempt to flank the creature-unluckily for him, he came in on the creatures left side, and the undamaged eye singles him out with malice! It pivots and sends a claw angling down toward the Kai warrior! Thinking quickly, he leaps into the air...

Gourgaz
(Gourgaz attacks (1) Lone Wanderer)
(Str roll:3 (hit! damage 4-3+2=3) (Wanderer agility Defense roll, 6-2=4, passed, 2 damage negated)

...barely dodging the worst of the blow and slashing the creature along it's scaled belly, landing gracefully a few feet away. The Gourgaz doesn't seem to feel the attack, but Lone Wanderer has a long, shallow cut along his side.

Gourgaz -4 torso armor
Lone Wanderer -1 HP

The creaures torso has been scarred with glaive and earth magic buckshot, but seems to be moderately damaged. There's an arrow gouged above his left eye, and it seems to be causing him some pain. He's going a bit slower on his left leg where Sheltering Leaves kick connected. His rage is making him wake faster...

(Random attack:1)

Bellowing, the Gourgaz digs his feet into the earth, and begins swinging his chain above him in a wide arc with both hands.

(6th Sense roll 8+2= 10 VS Fate roll 2) Your Kai senses tell you he's about to swing his chain all around him in a sweeping arc to try and hit all those who have engaged him in melee.
--------

Sub-boss battle!

Spoiler: Gourgaz (click to show/hide)
--------------------

War Wind
War Wind mounts his horse and is eager to be off-the rider directs him to gorge and rides back to the hidden base without him.
The trip is...eerily silent. (encounter roll:1) Nothing bothers him though. He arrives at the gorge and sees his friends battling the massive Gourgaz!

War Wind is on the ledge overlooking the battle, and neither his fellow warriors or the Gourgaz have noticed him.

Spoiler: Inventory (click to show/hide)

OOC: Is it easy to understand if I lay it out like this? Also, nice first round. :3

Leaf grit his teeth and crossed his arms over his face. As close as he was, there wasn't time to run, only defend...

This looks GREAT! I'm always interested in some good rp and the battle system looks very interesting. Count me in for the waiting list:
