5th Granite 504
Well, today I arrived at the fortress I am meant to be overseer of.
Its name is Cuborator.
Unfortunately for posterity, I was unable to map the outside at this time.
A goblin siege had sprung up, but through quick work, a miner was able to dig a tunnel for me to enter in.
A sketch of the inside of the fortress.
((I have about twelve images for this. They really don't contain that much data that is visible from them. If you want, I can still put them up, however.))
Well, it was time to get this fortress up to standard, so I halted all work the next day so as to commnicate our Glorious Leader's vision for the fortress.
"My fellow dwarves, as the recent revolution has shown, we are all equal. Yet some of us are more equal than others. Some are better metalsmiths, some are better fighters. Some are better masons, and some are better thinkers. I have been sent by the most equal dwarf of them all, our Glorious Leader Dakost. I've been sent to help this fortress become the jewel of Communism.
To begin with, the work and sleeping situation. I am all too well aware that some of you are used to private bedrooms. This is a lingering effect of the bourgeois. From now on, we will all sleep in one room. This will help our comradeship strengthen.
Unfortunately, I must, however, sleep apart. I am here to administrate, which means that work must be done throughout the day and night to keep the fortress operational.
To work, now, and I understand that some of you might be a bit worried. Not to fear! The equality maintained by our Glorious Country will ensure that all will do the same work.
Now that the nasty business is done with, back to work!"
I had just gotten ready to organise the jobs when a messenger burst in. "Administrator, a goblin axemen is terrifying some of our workers!"
I grabbed my handy sword, ready to kill the axeman...when I found out it was outside and above our fort.
Its stink was pretty terrifying though, I can tell you that.
I returned to organising the jobs by hand. Some dwarves will tell you it's enough to tell someone to do something. Pah! I know that it is only enough when you have filled out the paperwork in triplicate!
17th Granite
Finally convinced the other dwarfs to start work on the open bedplan.
18th Granite
TRAITORS!
Some dwarves have been selling bucklers.... TO THE ENEMY!
I immediately put a halt to that!
23rd Granite - Migrants arrive.
24th Granite - Migrants dead.
25th Granite - More migrants
26th Granite - Migrants dead.
5th Slate
Work is progressing on the open floor plan for the bedroom. Nearly halfway there. Some of the unskilled miners are complaining, but they work well enough.
6th Slate
I've decided to draft some of the workers into two new, and one refilled, squad. Leather armour for one of the new, nothing for the other. We just don't have the stocks ready.
They have commenced training.
12 Slate
One of the miners decides he doesn't want to work any more. Well, if he doesn't want to work, TOO BAD! All must work for the good of the Party, we can't have any slackers in our Communist Paradise.
13th Slate
He decides that he's a mason, eh? Well, I think we have some extra magma, just for him....
20th Slate
An artifact table.... Can't have that disrupting the workers, I'll have to...uh... Dispose of it! Yeah, dispose of it.
22nd Slate
Time to put these dogs to use... With a training kennels, we can get a group of wardogs to attack the enemy.
2nd Felsite
What the Armok? The goblins have left.
I have a bad feeling about this...
12th Felsite
Elves have arrived. Good thing, too. We needed some more food and drink. As well as whatever else they're carrying.
As they say, from those according to their ability to those according to their need.
We have the need, they have the ability.
19th Felsite
We can kiss our supply problems goodbye. Elves have given us all we need for a LONG time. The forests outside will give us everything else.
New animals: Giant Raven. Phoenix ((in game name is pheonix, but this is the correct spelling)). Giant leopard.
30th Felsite
Now all the commotion is out of the way, we can start on real work...
