Evidence a absence I think he means. Which is almost as ridiculous of your claims of such.

I believe that McDonald's pickles are the Antichrist.

God. It is so obvous now.

I have the pitchforks and fire, you in?
I have dibs on excommunication. Got my robe, collar, and menus from various assorted good burger places, am I missing anything?

I don't see why people argue about this so much. As far as I know the amount of religious people and their fervor go down every year... This is an argument that will solve itself. Unless something horrible happens like a second dark age.

This is actually not that true. I am relatively certain religious participation is going up at this time and not down.

I am just going by my own passing observations, so you may be right. I suppose I should conduct some serious research on it sometime to make sure.

This may be relevant:

Wikipedia Article w/ Religious Demographics over Time

Basically, the percentage of religious people is going down, but the numbers are still going up.

Explain yourself.

I base my beliefs on thousands of years of social interaction, and on known scientific facts.

A good med rare steak and a baked potato might be a good idea.

Is it okay if the potato is launched from a small cannon, or will that get me sued? Also, is it heresy to cover said potato in bacon and cheese and then eating it whilst it is in the middle of its flight from the cannon?

Ok

I would have to say that I Personally have never met anyone who was against gays for any other reason than religion.

Past cultures that were not against gays:
The Greek:

Romans:

Slavery is accepted in the bible, but through social interaction over thousands of years it is no longer acceptable, would you be willing to have slaves or be a slave?

No. But as I already pointed out religion, like all major institutions, resists change. This is not a good thing, but it happens and you should not blame it on religion.

I mean really, are you blaming a belief system invented so long ago for something that was common place in that time and the belief system no longer condones?

Why?

It is becoming painfully obvious this thread is not for you asking the question of why religions exist, which if it was you would be talking about that with the point I brought up like Metal, and more about you saying religion is a bad thing that needs to be abolished. Which is ridiculous.

... I don't like where this is going..

I was going to post the perfect picture for this thread earlier. It was a picture of a ship captain with something similar to "Thar be a shitstorm a brewin" on it. Damn I wish I still had that one.

I disagree with it but I would Never abolish religion.

I was merely using an example of a belief system that is no longer valid because of social interaction. I was not blaming religion, I was just making a point that it says that you can have slaves but we no longer agree with having slaves.
