Interstellar Marines

So a AAA quality game being made and marketed in an indie way. This game gives me a raging........nevermind.

From their website: INTERSTELLAR MARINES is a trilogy of three games, a high quality first person shooter experienced in a realistic and unpredictable future where first contact with another sentient species is slowly becoming reality. The games balance the military realism and cooperative action from tactical shooters with the character development and narrative depth from Role Playing Games.

they have functional demos on the site and a pre-purchase option that seems like a no brainer. I hope to do a big giveaway when they go live, but we'll see. In the mean time, knock yourself out here http://www.interstellarmarines.com/game/

I think I'll shoot the first person who shouts "SPACE MARINES! ATTACK!"

...Wait, can we shoot ourselves?

In seriousness, that looks fucking awesome. You said a functional demo? Is it that thing you have to register for?

Ah Unity. It's helping people dream big. Hope they succeed, would be nice to see better indie competition in the FPS market.

Looks interesting, although I highly doubt I'll be able to run it.  Seems as though this will take a little more graphical power than TF2  ;)

Loving the spaceship interior, not sure why there is a window. Hopefully vaccuum, bullet penetration, and impact effects all play into the game. Shoot a pipe labled DANGER HIGH PRESSURE PLASMA, cause a jet of starfire to immolate your victim. Then you. In that order.

This could come out wonderfully, or horribly.

Both at the same damned time.

I'd settle for just vacuum. I don't see enough games in space with that effect.

In my mind there's a blast door that slowly shuts with only a few seconds of stuff getting sucked out the window (of course, in reality decompression of a large area isn't usually the roaring vacuum it's often depicted to be, but let's not let reality get in the way here).

I saw this a while back, looks interesting although I really doubt I'd be able to run it even at the lowest settings. It seems fun though. I would also like to point out that I always caution against preordering anything. Games are rarely what they're hyped up to be, if you wait untill you hear word of mouth some, you'll generally have a better idea of what you're getting into (and then you can blame yourself instead of screaming at the developers for not doing what they promised).

Yeah. Take that Miner Wars game a few months back. IIRC it's had like 1 update since then.

Wow, this game is extremely well developed. I can't wait for actual aliens to kill.
