So killing it doesn't work, eating it doesn't work (can't cut it to eat it, after all), extinguishing the candles doesn't work, dropping it a few stories to break it doesn't work, setting it on fire doesn't work... I guess I'm about to get hit with a meteorite because I can think of nothing else relevant to do with this cake.

Uh... first thing I did was use the fire extinguisher on it, and the candles didn't go out...

Therefore, it doesn't work. Putting them out didn't accomplish anything, and a fire extinguisher is much more powerful/likely to work than blowing them out.
