Several bugs: 33g

1) Children completely ignore "Soldiers go outdoors" general orders

(nevermind, figured it out.  the squad leaders were injured and led a general retreat)

(fine, restrictions aren't forbidden)

4) My nobles can issue post-facto export restrictions.  After trades have happened, and even after the merchants have packed up, my baron will ban certain exports and punish those appropriate.

The "restricted zone" orders do not prevent dwarves from entering certain tiles.  They increase the movement cost per tile.  So they will still move through restricted zones if it is shorter than the alternate route.

They will also move through restricted tiles if there is an object on one of those tiles they need for a job.  For example, if there is one spider web in your fort and it is on a restricted tile, and you have the "collect webs" order enabled, a weaver will go get the web (no matter the movement cost).

I think I had that same problem with the noble and issuing export restrictions after the fact.

I had a human caravan arrive, so I moved a bunch of trade goods over, about 20 bins worth, and traded for almost their whole caravan's worth of goods.  While doing this, I didn't notice any items set as a different color, which previously has been my clue that those items are on an export restriction (when I played my last game, under version 33d).

A little while later my Mayor/Broker threw a tantrum.  He was upset that a mandate had been violated (he had one banning the export of Earrings) and was also upset that he was unable to punish the guilty party.  When I checked the justice screen, like 15 dwarves had all been listed as being in trouble for violating an export mandate.  I only had 10 or so chains in my jail, so maybe that's why they couldn't be punished.  My mayor/broker de-tantrumed for a bit, then went insane a while later.

I'm still on 33f, I haven't bothered to upgrade that game yet.

Reminds me of one time I watched a guy go install a grate.  Two entrances to the area, one Restricted (by a VERY LARGE restricted area to avoid fire imps) and the other within 15 tiles and the grate he needed (dropped by the last guy) almost directly under him.

He took the long route, even walking PAST the construction site (off near the restricted entrace) to get the grate.

I think the guy who dropped the grate was walking towards the non-restricted entrance (i.e. leaving) when he dropped it to, never did figure out why.  Almost as if he went in and past the construction site as going out the other way, going around, and coming back in was "shorter."

#4 has been the case for as long as I can remember.  I got into the habit of never trading goods that my nobility liked, just in case they snuck a trade restriction past me while the caravan was still on the map.

The intruder arose, casting off its black cloak.  "Behold, stunted jesters!  It is I, Scuro!"  A jagged scar marked the goblin's face from eye to chin, his greasy mane gray and wild, and about his neck was the broken silver amulet, strapped together by a leather band.

True enough, but they still have sense enough to go "OMG!  Gobbies!" and decide that "staying inside" might in fact be the long-life'd thing to do.
