i started a new fort in an area that had both a stream and magma vent in close proximity, i dug in and started setting up a workshop room where i'd put my magma forge and such, dug a channel for the magma to flow into which it did, but i don't have the proper buildings available to build, i have stone, i have an anvil i had a dwarf with all the smithing skills plus furnace operator, is there anything else missing? do i need a certain population level to build these, i've build a magma workshop before in 33c i believe with no trouble so i wonder if anythings changed.

also after i built the magma channel i had noticed dwarves going down to it often, i checked the unit screen to see what jobs they had for there and it appears they're cleaning for some reason, there's no mud, blood or vomit near there so the only thing i can think of is the dwarves think the magma is dirt that needs to be cleaned.

My amazing powers of mesmerism prognosticate that you ran reveal.exe before finding the magma the normal way.

i did run reveal but only because i thought i had a bug where the embark screen would show a magma vent but there wasn't one on the actual map. only because in the past i had played in a fort with magma and it's location was visible right of the bat. though that was probably changed which is understandable
