merchants can't find way out.

Now I got another merchant bug.  Two of the dwarf caravan plus pack animals can't find their way out of the fortress.  They went down a level and came back up on the other side of the depot.  The display that shows if a caravan can get to your depot says they can't get out.

Is there a way to make the insides of your fort caravan friendly.

I think I'm having this problem too, but I'm not sure. There are ramps leading up to my trading post, and those ramps show up red on my shift-D map. I've had 3 groups of merchants come by so far and each group, instead of actually leaving when it says they're going to, has just kind of hung around the trading post and eventually gone insane or depressed, killing themselves and their beasts of burden.

It's nice getting all this free stuff but this probably isn't how it's supposed to work...

edit: I've just entered winter of my second year and I've had zero migrants arrive... could that be related?
