This is a revival of an old forum game called
Fall Of Democracy. This is going to be slightly different: There is more of a focus on England itself then the entire UK, and there is going to be an alternate history angle where instead of a normal 9/11, there is a nuclear attack on Manchester, and the world promptly goes to hell. Roleplaying is A-OK, just roleplay your actions singular and don't make very very very
VERY long pages about how your faction is doing with the other. Apart from the alternate history, this is meant to be a fairly realistic and fairly depressing, so no cyborg chimps killing 1000's of Hitlers. Six maximum factions. Also, your faction starts out with 50 people. No more, no less. No resources beyond a normal organization. You'll have to work for those bonuses.

Group Profile (necessary info)
Name: What is this called? (The Signal, The Liberators, The Cyborg Chimps, etc.)
Leader: Who is the master of this organization? (John Smith, Tommy Jenkins, etc.)
Ideology: What do they believe? (Humanity can be united under a single flag, chaos is the new order, etc.)
Aim: What do they want? (Kill Clones of Hitler, unite humanity, etc)
Base: What place do they occupy, and where? (Abandoned Metro station in London, the leader's house in the country, etc.)
Color: What colors are they sorted with? (Green, Blood Red, etc.)
Winning Conditions: Fulfill the 'aim' of your Group (Topple the government or cause the apocalypse etc. )
In 2001, the worst terrorist attack on UK soil was committed. It was September 11th, and it seemed like a normal day. This was wrong. On that very day, an atomic bomb exploded, promptly obliterating the entire city. This was the start of a firestorm that shook the foundations of the entire world. The nations began suspicious of another terrorist attack, and waged war on the others in a witch hunt to try and find which nation blew up Manchester. Soon, the entire world was embroiled in World War 3, which was a combination of conventional, biological and nuclear warfare. Soon, the United Nations collapsed into nothing, and almost every nation fell apart in civil war.
While the world burned, England steadily held onto order. Slowly, the laws became more and more oppressive. England became a paranoid police state, with citizens reporting on their friends and family, and random people being kicked into black vans. At first, the British people tried to rebel, but those poor souls were black-bagged and tortured to death.
It is now 2011. It has been 10 years since the world you once knew collapsed in a terrifying hell of horror, greed and despair. The England you once knew is now more like the Soviet Union. The TV broadcasts broadcast propaganda supporting the state, and everyone has given up trying to escape this terror and have slid into apathy.
No more. You will not stand for this. You see a vision of your England in your eyes, and it will happen one way or another. You know you will have to kill, claw and torture your way to the top, but you must do this. Without it, England will crumble. From your base, you will change the face of the country. The main problem is those other bastards...
