Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now, as you can see, going to Kiev means crossing several hundred kilometers of ennemy territory and crossing the frontlines. Moreover, since the Red Army is on the offensive, Kiev may be Soviet by the time we get there.

So, basically, if we want to go that way, we need to start disguising ourselves as Russian an pray nobody notice us.

Now, my proposal would be to go South, through the Caucasus. We can always get back to Germany afterward. Sure, it's nearly as long, but much less populated, and we don't need to cross the frontlines. Also, since the frontlines are so far away, there shouldn't be that much military personnel left.

Both way, it's still a good idea to steal Soviets uniforms and look for Soviet rather than German gear.

P.S. And here's a map of Stalingrad. There is no USSR square, so I assumed you mean the Red Square.

Good work, and I know there is no USSR square, I didn't know any map of current day Volgograd so I was working on a fictional plan I was making in my head. After all, this is the remnants of the second assault of Stalingrad. We'll work by this map, assuming there hasn't been a revolution in Greece or Turkey, yet.

You ask about the squad to see if anyone can speak russian, they can't but in these uniforms there is no chance of blagging their way past Soviet Men.. or Fish.

It is the beginning of Winter, nobody is sure of the exact date but they do know it was a couple of months since they left Kiev in Autumn.

There is a brief rush of sound from above as a German Jet Plane flashes over, heading West.

Cautiously make our way South West. Careful to use side streets and bound between building so as not to be seen by enemy patrols.

As an alternate to Sheb's plan: Head for the Volga and try to steal a boat, then head to the Black sea, and follow the coast into Ukraine, and then north to Kiev

Well, if there isn't any soviet uniform to loot, we should try to get out of Stalingrad as stealthily as possible. I think we should find a secure place on the bank of the Volga and wait for the night. Then we can just slip in it (without a boat is better as we we be more discreet) and get out of the city that way.

Ask your teammates about geopolitical situation. Did Americans join war? If yes, we should reconsider decision about coming back to Germany. I don't think it is a good idea if marines are on the way :P Ask about Japan - if they are fine, we may get through Siberia and join them :D Ask them where is the rest of our platoon (or squad or company, whatever) and how did we get here. Ask medic about his supplies. Ask them about grenades, we should have some. What do they know about fishmen? Can they breath out of water? Are we Wehrmacht or Waffen-SS? If we are cut off our troops I think we should join anti Soviet partisans. They will give us Russian uniforms (or just clothes if they don't have any), learn us Russian, so we go to Moscow and assasinate Stalin  ;D Could you post a map with a front line so we know a bit more than "Kiev is ours"?
Then ask for a cup of tea.

You ask the squad about the geo poltical situation. The USA did join the war but fought back only as far as the French border. Japan redirected a lot of their forces into mainland china and decided to not partake in Pearl habour.

Horrible new technology was deployed during the beginning of this year. Huge Siege Drills were used by the UK during the fighting on the Western front and were used to break German fortifications by undermining them.

The Soviets employed fish men and worse monstrosities in their fighting, Nazi Germany responded with Super Heavy Tanks. The Japanese employed mechanical body armour.

The Volga river is to the east. The quickest way there would be down the back alley.

We order the squad to take this route.

We come across a open street. Across the street, to the east, is another alley. There is a battle raging in the Street, artillery is falling all around, Soviet men lead an attack down the street as German men are covering themselves as they retreat.

If we cross the road we will be seen and shot.

Well, it would be a nice occasion to machine-gun them in the flank. But we're so deep into enemy territory that we're doomed if we fight.

Actually, I kinda like the Kill Stalin idea. Just crazy enough for Bay12. But anyway, we should hide until dusk.

Huge Siege Drills were used
Huge Siege Drills

WE MUST GET ONE AND UNDERMINE KREMLIN!
And we can dig to magma, pump it to Volga and lead fishmen to extinction. Yay!

Soviet men lead an attack down the street as German men are covering themselves as they retreat.
Play dead and then shoot them in their backs.

So you want us to cross the frontline, cross the other frontline, steal a siege weapons, cross both frontlines again, in a Siege Weapon (so large, bulky and kinda weak) and then undermine the Kremlin?

Ponder what special weapon America was using. And France for that matter.
