"That's good to know." Rebecca says, unaware of how to respond to the enormity of his statements. As usual, she settles for uncomfortable silence rather than putting her foot in her mouth.

She was glad to have gotten him to open up-Rebecca had thought he was just a robber or a burglar up till now. As her father would have said "You look under the surface, 'Becca, and you'll find out the truth

She wasn't surprised to hear that about the raiders and his family...seems everybody had their share of grudge against them, but no one would just get up and do something about it. She knew, back on the ocean, if anybody got it into their mind to play a sort of half assed "pirate", the tribes would hunt them down, wound them and leave said person floating in prowler infested water. On land, everyone just shrugged and said "lucky it wasn't me"...

When she got to Rivergate, she would have to plan carefully. Rebecca made a silent pledge to herself that the Raiders would be brought to justice for the evil they did. If others wouldn't help, she would do it herself.

And that move with the spine was interesting knowledge, too. She would have to practice that. Rebecca figured the day she could surprise Tarran with it, they would be even.

"Uuuggghhh. Dear lord, are you also from Corryn Valley? I'm May Powlin." May turned to the others. "Who are you?"
May, after introductions, took out her wooden shortsword and went out to hunt for something- other than Ziras.

Quote from: Taricus / Taric Al-Sayyid: 24
Make something out of the junk, preferably combat boots.
Taric was a scientist, not a survivor. There was practically no way he would be able to take the heat outside. Therefore, he decided to do something useful with himself and got out his screwdriver and some of the junk. (Int = 8+1 Skill, 9, pass. 2 Pieces of Junk consumed, 1 for each boot) Taric took off his tough leather boots and started screwing the metal together around them to reinforce them. After awhile he was done and had a shiny pair of Reinforced Boots! (Taric Gets: Reinforced Boots! These soak 1 damage dealt to the legs in combat)

Quote from: Dwarmin / Rebecca White: 59
Float down the river of time and space
Rebecca and Tarran talked, with Tarran revealing some of his past pre-Corryn Valley. (MAR: 2, attack) While they were talking, though, the raft suddenly started to rock... and not in a good way! They had drawn the attention of Gillmara, humanoids that dwelt in caves underwater! Now that Rebecca looked, she could see a deep hole in the western bank of the river...

Quote from: Jetsquirrel / Marion Chris Hibaru: 76
Find some small cave creatures and toast em in the smaller fire(s) for food
Along with new arrival May Powlin, Marion went outside into the forest fire. (End: 6, failure) However, the smoke and heat proved too much for him, and he retreated back into the cave instantly. Ilyana walked over to him and stared outside at the flames. "It's dangerous out there... maybe you should stay here," she said, putting a hand on his upper arm.

Uh. Attempt to get back to the cave without ending crispy.
Enriqe was glad he was in the cave out of that mess. Whew! If he wasn't such a tough guy he might have been in a bad way out there!

Quote from: Tarran / Tarran Bris: 26
Also: Float down the river of time and space
Tarran drew his knife and prepared for battle against the Gillmara! (Give me a battle plan and I'll condense the fight. :3)

Quote from: Powder Miner / May Powlin: 64
May took out her wooden shortsword and went out to hunt for something other than Ziras.
May stepped outside, wooden sword in hand. (End: 5, pass) She stayed low to avoid the smoke; as for the heat, she could stand it, as long as she stayed away from the worst parts of the fire. (Int: 3, success) While hunting, she came across a small deer-like creature known as a Gahra. It had extremely hard hooves that could be dangerous and powerful leg muscles, not to mention the antlers. Unlike its closest Earth analogue, however, it had two sets of eyes; one in the normal location, and then another pair in front of and below them. Instead of fur its skin was covered in dark brown scales, the better to blend into the forest.

May, however, was able to recognize the break between its silhouette and the forest around it. With a cry, she leaped at it! Her first blow missed as the Gahra reared up in startlement. She tried a second time, but it turned its head away and tried to mulekick her! She rolled past it and as it was coming up from its attack, regaining its balance, she struck it hard across the forehead, braining it. Victorious, she sheathed her sword and drug it back to camp. (May Gets: Dead Gahra! This can be crafted into food items)

"Only if he rolls a 10." Meanwhile, everyone else in the cave watches Taric talk to himself. Why's he doing that?
