[Ghazkull]

Well...you propably remember that organizational abomination  of a Space Empire Noble thingy i started some time ago. Well let's do this again but first in a fantasy setting and secondly with the nice visual support from a Warcrraft map i stumbled over, tada Eastern Expanses...

You wil play 3 aspiring nobles/knights who for various reasons were sent by the Holy Kaiser to the Eastern expanses, a largerly undiscovered,unmapped and uncolonized area in the (surprise,surprise) eastern borders of the Empire. Some of you will propably note the historical parallels to the Ostkolonisation of the Holy Roman Empire in the Middle Ages...

The Holy Empire of Light was founded 600 years ago as Orown the Enlightened unified the various Human Clans in the Heartlands and forged the Empire. In long drawn wars the Eastern Mountainhomes and the Aerayn Forests were integrated and the elves and cororespondingly the dwarves were forced to live as inhabitants of second class or even as slaves in the Empire. 200 AE (After Enlightenment) Kaiser Heinrich the Pious founded the Cult of Light, which should later become even mightier than the Empire or any other force in the known world.
In the following years the Empire steadily expanded its territory and after several uprisings among dwarves, they were finally granted the same status as Humans at least in sight of saecular institutions...
until 400 AE the Goblin Hegemony and another dozen races were completely exterminated as the Cult of Light started what is today known as the "Scourge of Light". Today the Empire has lost much of it's might and it is basically a slowly decaying corpse. From the South a colloboration of Orcs and free Elves have formed Barbarian Hordes and ravage the lands. In the North lie the Free States a loose alliance of City States which grow rich from slave trade and being the whorehouse of the Empire. In the west still lie the Independent Mountainhomes which stoutly defend their territory.

Magic exists though it is highly prohibited in the Empire. The Cult of Light personally supervises everything that has to do with magic. But As you can guess in the Free States nobody cares if you are even practising Necromancy as long as you can bribe the guards...


Today the Bulk of the population in the Empire make Humans as well as Elvish slaves. Dwarfs have mostly fled to the western mountainhomes as soon as they managed to achieve citizenship and most residing in the Empire are second class serfs forced to do as told. These are however only the races in the Empire. In the South life the "babarian" Orks who periodically raid the lands of the Empire. However recently one known as Krag Redeye has united several Clans and shows ambitions for more. in the Isles Southeast of the Empire lies the Kingdom of Aresia, the second most important trading partner of the Empire. It is ruled by humans although the native Lizardmen are treated as equal and many fill important positions in the state. And still there are dozens of minor races all scattered over the continents and opressed by the Empire to work as slaves or being hunted for their sheer existence...

The Trek finally came to a halt. Oswin scratched his pock marked face. a miracle that these Imperials even made it this far...if they made it over the winter they would soon meet far worse problems than wild animals and freezing...

Mkay Sers...here ye are. The Eastern Expanses! I won't go further. Whats with me money?

The three of you look a bit disgruntled but had him over a sack of gold and a extra coin for some advice.

Well North of here would be mountains, i often saw something glittering there if i walked past...(which was of course untrue)



oh to the east is the Coast, it's fruitful and teeming with fish



And of Course the Eastern Swamps although you propably need to pay somebody to get you over to that place...however its nice and cozy and quiet(perfect for getting ambushed...)



Well there you go...im off with these words and a moking laughter Oswin vanished in the woods, leaving you three and 300 hopeful but frightened imperials colonists to their fate.

The eastern Coast
The eastern coast is really teeming with fish and the lands are great for agriculture, however the Jormungandr Clans from the North are often passing by a two-edged sword. they will propably trade with you but don't be surprised with merchant ships meant for you end up as burnt carcasses...

The Mountains
The mountains provide poor arable land and at night the howling of things can be heard. But it is covered in woodlands and a lucky miner may find interesting stuff in the depths down below.

The Swamps
The Swamplands would make awesome arable land if you manage to dry out the swamps. You could gather peat and sell it for heating or fuel at blacksmiths. On other notions you could also hunt the many strange wild animals gathered there, or you could just die because as it is the swamplands are dangerous, teeming with diseases,insectsand dangerous beasts and not to forget those strange eyes staring at you from the darkness...

Story: One of the Human nobles of the Barano province (Which is quite similar to Germany in culture), he went to the eastern expanses for, of course, the profit.
Character: A quite man, he rarely speaks out. People know very little about him, other then his quite Liberal policies. He is also quite curious, always ready for a new thing to learn.
Looks: Very tall, and always dressed quite fastionably. He has Blue eyes and short blond hair.

Edit: Thought I would try and RP as a German character before I noticed this was a fictional land, not the real world (Not sure where I got that) with the HRE colonizing Asia. Went with the German character anyway.
