Sorry for not posting update will be tomorrow today i will relish in my enormous hangover from the bierfest we had yesterday in our town...*the paaain*
ok although my headache is killing me i try to answer questions and mostly CLAIMS in no particular order
I assume that actions lead by the player (so making the fishing boats, but not making the housing) have a bonus of some sort?
it depends on who the player is. I doubt a knight or a squire exactly know how to build a boat. Sure they can increase the speed stuff is built but i doubt that they increase the quality of stuff. In your case you won't actually get a bonus as you take a bunch of inexperienced peasants and a squire to build fishing boats. Something they never did before.
limonite is found in nature as brown ironstone, ironsandstone, lake ore,bog ore red dirt
Ahra is right here he could propably find Bog Iron and yes in Scandinavia are bogs and swamps and believe it or not there are many. Apart from that, they could also get lake ore.
Copper can be smelted into Bronze, which is a better metal then Iron.
This is by the way untrue good sir. Early times were dubbed as Bronze Age and then IRON Age for the simple reason that iron first of all is superior to bronze and secondly that the process to produce iron weaponry or tools is more complex and harder then that of making bronze.
I am on a fucking mountain. I do not think it is a secret that there will be metals inside.
There may be metals inside but that does not mean that you necessarily find some. You get a bonus to find some and the others get enormous mali but still, if you are unlucky you wont find some, or do you think you can go to the next mountian dig a meter and HURRA gold? If that were the case gold or metals in general wouldn't be that valuable...
But how often will trade come in? It has not been established when the caravans from our Empire will arrive to trade. It may be months, years, hell, maybe even a decade if things do not go well for that voyage. We will be mostly relant on the resources we have here, otherwise whats the point of farming and wood chopping if we get that stuff on a weekly basis?
by season 3 the first trade caravans will arrive...and you wont get anything for free...
I do not think the primitive native tribes are advanced enough to mine for any metal that isn't directly on the surface.
you know that norse raiders were feared for their advanced iron weaponry? Not to mention that those guys are everything but primitive. They are fearsome enough to loot cities and towns on the whole Eastern Coast of the Empire and get away with it. Don't underestimate those guys....
i think that was everything...
