It's the hidden multiplayer feature. All df worlds are connected to Toady's server by the bottommost z-level.
That'd be epic if that was the secret way to play Multiplayer. Like a beta, but there's more Fun involved!

A few versions ago, there was a bug involving old saves in a new version where slade was diggable. Results? There is literally nothing under hell. You can't view that z-level, and everything and everyone dropped into it is irretrievably destroyed.

Maybe there is a secret chamber underneath with Cave Johnson and a never ending supply of combustible lemons. He is pissed and unkillable.

If you kill the turtle, wouldn't that cause a cave-in though your computer? And because it went through your computer, it would splat you against the wall?

Guys, if you haven't played Portal 2, you will not get this.

Anyways, WIN! I could mod this in, if you'd like :))

Good luck making him immune to caveins and obsidian encasement.

That is bound to get fixed eventually.

I'd like to see how Toady fixes that without messing it up. Caveins and BEING ENCASED IN OBSIDIAN are very destructive, after all, and making them less so would result in oh so many exploits.

I'll agree with you at that point about being destructive, but it's getting overused like the 'Dwarven atom smasher'. He is bound to make megabeasts and clowns to immune to it eventually.

Aye, I'd like to see how that gets managed. Even if they live through it, obsidian prisons would effectively immobilize them, wouldn't it, though?

True, but what would truly be hilarious is that Cave Johnson lives in a *masterwork* statue in the main dining hall. One night a dwarf bumps up against the statue. Statue gets a small crack, then it gets bigger. Till you start hearing "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOONNNNNSSSSSS!!!!." Then the statue bursts as Cave Johnson has been released from his century long prison term. He still has the lemons.

AND SO CAVE JOHNSON SHALL BE MADE!

This'll be Fun indeed. So, put him in HFS only, or should I also put him in the caverns? Should he be made of metal?
