The Land Of Wealths.
« on: May 18, 2011, 01:49:23 pm »

In the year 53, and humanity has waged war with many civs, including one or two of the dwarf civillizations.
Their amazing hunger for resources and living space has led them to expand and colonize impossible places, including, The Land Of Wealths.

Where there are no pesky elves to complain about the trees, no kobolds and goblins to steal your children and silverware, and most importantly, no dwarfs to destroy the very world you hold dear, mine too deep or wage war in general. They even found a magma pool on the surface (a volcano with literally no elevation, i'm jealous.) and dumped a town on there to.

Despite not having proper beards, the scorching and hot temperatures, salt water, and dangerous wildlife, rocky wasteland and desert spots, humanity has progressed VERY, VERY well on The Lands Of Wealth, still holding a monopoly on the amazing island's resources, with no pesky neighbours and having built houses on nearly every square mile of the island. If their mighty "One Toad" deity would have given them the ability to build more ships, their armies would probally flood the world in a righteous crusade to cleanse all goblin, elf and dwarven kind.

All was going amazing until the year 212.

The new dwarven queen has decided, The Land Of Wealths WILL be colonized, NO MATTER THE DWARVEN COST.

And thus my Scorching hot fort adventure starts, literally surrounded by 10 human forts, and even more towns, and the humans are PISSED.
So my question to you people now is... What will the fort and the group name be?

And thus the new settlement of <group name> was dubbed Ustosbiban, dwarven for Angerballs. The human neighbours were not availlable for comments about this insult towards them. And i just noticed i can embark with obsidian, sweet.

Any takers for the group name?
Maybe a suggestion for a fort theme?

The Picks of Insulting. Just to really rub their faces in it. As to theme do whatever it takes to make the fort as self-sufficient and long lasting as you can. Every decade it lasts is another insult to the humans

Well, time to add the word Insulting to the dwarven dictionary. So worth it.

I'm going to put TreasureBadgers on the table if you want it.

Create an artificial volcano. If you embark on one, make it erupt randomly (roomful of cats and pressure plates for triggers). Bonus points if you can create earthquakes (cave-ins) during eruptions.

Too bad I don't think one can simulate the volcano actually blowing off a portion of its top to leave a caldera....

My answer to just about everything is magma. In fact, most threads end up with me running in screaming it

Going for TreasureBadgers instead then, cant seem to get the word Insulting working. And who doesn't love badgers? I bet the humans do. Especially since this is a regular forest area, not a tropical one.

No badgers either and my raw editting isnt working either... Ragingbeard time.
The closest i could get was Ragebeard, or Ragebeards. This ok?

Icarus stopped at one of the hills. He breathed, and leaned on his staff. A moment later he looked at the great, hot and dry plains. He heard tales of it at his dwarvenhomes of Copperbattles, far, far away from this place. He sailed away from his home, with six of his most loyal companions, and their livestock. After months of sailing through dangerous and tricky seas and oceans, they arrived to this place. They have met many humans, those big, industrial bastards. Icarus sighed and turned around. His friends were making progress with the horses pulling the wagon. Suddenly, one of the wheels broke and wagon stopped instantly. Horses screamed, dogs barked, dwarves cursed and shouted. Icarus sighed once again, wiped the sweat from his forehead, but he hit something soft. He,surprised, took his hand back and he saw a violet butterfly flying away. Moved by this sign,he went to the wagon. The name of the mountainhomes and the group were forming in his head. By the time he could hear the flames clearly,he decided.

The Butterwagons shall claim these lands. Butterwagons shall claim

                                              The Lands of Wealths

Might be a little late, but hey. Writing such a story quickly while watching a movie isnt easy.

Aw, I'm sorry I ninjad someone who actually put effort in their suggestion. :( I hadn't even read that OP was now looking for a group name rather than a fort one.

And ah yes frisian, i thought you ment the group name, i think i'll stay with Angerballs then sorry. :P
