I just got the 3.5 players handbook and fantasy grounds then I quickly rolled a character. After that I realized I don't have anyone to play with :P I was wondering if there are any existing fantasy grounds games that would take a new player or if someone would be willing to make one. I will be no trouble and do my best to do things right.

*edit I could use maptools too I just wanna play DnD

I am sorry to be the one to tell you, but no one uses fantasy grounds. It looks cool to me, but I am not going to pay $30 when other things like it are free.

who says I payed for it? :)

but anyways I'd be willing to use anything else that would allow me to play dnd online. Anything else you can recommend?

Do you happen to know of any running maptool games that would readily accept a newby like myself? If not do you know how I could find one?

I prefer IRC over maptools, but if maptools is used right it's pretty awesome.

But can you do maps on IRC?

Nope, but I am not a big player in the DnD world. Maybe mythweavers might have games open?

D&D's too tactical for IRC>  Call of Cthulhu and the like can do IRC pretty well though, I'd think.

I like IRC because you don't have a map though.
It makes it easier for the players to go off and do something completely unrelated without the GM having to make an entire new area from scratch.
However, I can see how GM's would prefer to have a map, so the players couldn't do that.
I think Burnt did it pretty well with DH, and GlyphGryph is doing it great with his game, in my opinion.

That's true, maps are a bitch to make, especially for me.  Ihave weird issues where nothing ever looks right and they usually end up being weird symmetrical clusters of rooms.

I can see why. I did like the rooms you made for the DeathWatch game, though.

Yeah, but that was a horrible mission.  I don't know what I was thinking.

Eh. I liked it. I did not see the issue with it from a player prospective. Although I can understand if you disliked the ship combat thing.

No, the Deathwatch thing.  A mission composed entirely of shooting stuff.  I don't think Deathwatch is very good.  All Space Marines do is kill stuff
