I find the phrase "Devlog of Lies" to be hilarious for reasons unexplored. I'm not mad about the lack of updates- I love that Tarn fills his devlog with information and excitement at frequent intervals*. I just, you know.... WANT IT WANT IT WANT IT NOW

After getting used to devlog updates like maybe once a week, the spree this month has made me fill spoiled.  I absolutely love reading that stuff.  Gonna go read today's update now!

Personally, I figured out pretty quick that the "The dead arise tonight" quote was just because that was the day they got undead to start working.

I hate to break this to you, but after Toady is done with the mummy update, he's also going to go back and work on making shops and marketplaces, as well.  You've probably got at least a week to go waiting.

Anyway, I consider the sudden shift to daily devlog updates and unexpected twist in developing interactions in the game to be something of a "Fey Mood" on Toady's part... don't expect this to last.

Toady is developing relatively quickly already.

Even if he wasn't don't hurry the man. As much as you'd like it to happen, he's already devoted every single one of his waking hours to this, and hurrying would mean releasing something sub-par. This isn't even as bad as it gets in terms of waits. There was a year-long one after 40d, so this one isn't that big in comparison.

So calm down. It's come out when it's done.
