The new Razer Chroma support sucks

There is no option in game to turn it off, and worse, it activates even if you have no Razer products. So, when playing Terraria my Corsair keyboard forcibly changes its lighting and there is no way to turn it off. People say you can disable it with Razer Synapse, but I don't have anything Razer in my system so...

I too have this issue. I have a Logitech G710+ which has backlight but only monochrome. Every time I exit the game it turns the backlight off and I manually have to turn it back on to the setting I had before.

I was digging around in Terraria's config file this morning, and noticed these options:

  "UseRazerRGB": true,
  "UseCorsairRGB": true,
  "UseLogitechRGB": true,

You guys might try manually setting these to 'false'.

The file will be located at:

Code: [Select]
C:\Users\{Your User Name}\Documents\My Games\Terraria\config.json
Or a similar location depending on your OS and Language settings.

I've always been bothered by "modern nurse apparel" which never suited any of my medieval-style houses, so this is something small I've done for myself. If it suits someone else, I will be happy.

Fixed the painter in the last post, sorry :). Forgot they have a different set of sprites too.

Nice.  I like the nurse and the painter a lot.  They fit well. 

Nurse: A nun in full habit, wearing black pump heels?  Sure, that could happen.

Painter: Maybe a smaller paintbrush.  Maybe just discard the paint can.  Dunno.

The elf-dryad is okay... is it just a new head on the original body?  Looks like it.  The head reminds me a bit of the player character in those half-genie platformer games.  (The big boss is named Risky Boots, anyone know the PC's name?)

Not a fan of plant-dryad.  Way too much puke-green.  It needs some accent.  Maybe change the clothing to brown.

The heels are something I didnt want to remove because of how snarky the character is. Devil in a sheep clothing.
For the painter, I didn't want to remake the whole sprite, just the clothing. The paint brush resembles the item sprite in the game, but I can see removing the paint can as an option.
The dryad has two variants: lazy repaint to make her a plantoid, and another design based on one of Terraria.org forum avatars (Zilem).

Painter: maybe an artist's palette?  But you probably don't have enough pixels, it would just look like a muddy mess.  Hmm.  White, with three primary colors, held vertically?

I was trying with the palette and it looked like a brown box :).

Unfortunately changing sprites on blood moon would require some coding, but once tModloader is updated to 1.4, maybe it's something I could do.

I tried setting just the Corsair one to false, but the game reset it to true again. However, if I set all three to false it works. Thanks!

I've built two hellevators and am building the third now. I've sped up since I moved from my original nine squares shadts to three shqaures.

I also use bombs. Lots and lots of bombs

There's a new sort of bombs that are amazing for that. Scarab bombs. Sturdy Fossil plus regular bombs. Makes a long, directional hole 3 tiles wide.

Yeah I found those but you need fossils, which are exclusive. 

I've been refining my technique and I think you can build hellevators ultra fast with standard dynamite, you just need loads of it. Around 300 or 400 sticks at least.

The trick is in getting enough money for that, and really, for the most comfortable early game money makers... you kind of need the hellevator in the first place, to get lava & build a money-making fortress in an evil biome. But that's the initial investment. After that money is nowhere near as hard to get by, and you can dig with dynamite.
