The best way to solo the moons is to get a platform a little ways above a flat pathway with lava that doesn't destroy items. Reduces what you have to deal with.

Even tho I use the SDMG a lot, I prefer to wear high defense armor rather than ranged armor. Sure the Daybreak thing is nice but hard to target and even with this outfit I'm pretty sure the DPS is higher even with musket balls (infinite bag).

Pretty much how I've played all the tiers, highest defense regardless of weapons or magic.

Press tab to put the minimap visible, then press - and + to adjust the size.  Bosses show up the same as character icons, so even when a boss is too far, you can still aim in that direction.  With chloro bullets, an endless ammo pouch, or a seeking spell, it's good enough to get close.
I'm running right-corner minimap already, but thanks for advice still. Minimap is useful for tracking bosses indeed. But my main problem was the hands, just too much flailing around for my taste. Once those got taken care of, it was quite easy. I also have no equipment you suggested, but I only had to lighten the area up a bit and that was that.

I'd really like to get my hands on compass already though. Statue, a statue, my kingdom for piranha statue.

Got most of them from building the underhell railway.

You can open the inventory and hit each informative icon one by one to disable them.

You can make the infinite ammo pouch with 4 stacks of musket balls and use the crystal ball as a workbench - same with arrows.  It costs about 4.5 gold from the arms dealer, all told.  When equipped to an ammo slot, you'll always be marked as having 1 ammo, at musket ball stats.  You can put nice bullets in the top ammo slot and the pouch in the second, so when you run through your nice bullets you switch to infinite.

I was lucky in fact! In my most recent Terraria session some undead viking finally dropped one! Only weather radio missing for cellphone, wooooo!

When me and a friend beat the Moon Lord on normal, we had Specter Gear and Beetle Armor. Beetle for me, because melee all day erryday, and specter for him because healycasternerd.
